Peaceful stay in November

We stayed on the island the first week in November. The entire island was closed except a few hotels (including this one) and some shops/places to eat. We wanted a peaceful stay and loved it. The hotel is a stones throw away from Acadia Nat Park which was wonderful to leave our room and drive right to the park. It also is right along the water which is beautiful. Friendly staff. We stayed for 2 days at the main building. The main buildings rooms is showing its age and well loved. Our door was hard to open, oldish carpet and furniture. The room was clean however. It does not feel like a cookie cutter chain hotel but rather a family owned bed breakfast with furniture pieces. My only complaint was the “private balcony” is not really. Its a small walk out deck with a piece of plaster dividing the other room next to you. The heated pool and jacuzzi area was wonderful we spent much time there. We seemed to have the place to ourselves. It was a great stay. The hotel was wonderful. I think the outdated feel is not a negative but rather something for guests to take note of before booking. Its certainly not a Hilton feel room but rather a homey cabin feel. Beautiful location and stay in a beautiful town.

We stayed here for a long weekend in November. We had a family suite which was comfortable with enough space for 5 (two double beds and a king bed). The room also had a balcony with amazing ocean views. The location is close to Bar Harbor and had its own restaurant. The indoor pool was small but looked fine. The breakfast was very good and the service was excellent. But what made this hotel stand out was their integrity. My daughter left her watch in the room and we didn’t realize it until a few days after we got home. When I called the hotel, the cleaning service had turned it in and they shipped it back to us! I was amazed that we recovered it. Thank you Atlantic Oceanside!

I just returned from a 4 day quilt sewing event that took place in the event center. I have been going to these for more than five years and find the staff are like members of my family. The place is warm friendly. The staff especially Lou who solves any and all problems that may arise during the Sewing get away. We are lucky that Carol continues to run these events. We also enjoyed how the local fabric shops ran specials for us to lure us out on buying sprees.

Beautiful Property, Average Rooms

Unfortunately because we had kids we were placed on the first floor - the opposite of where you want to stay with kids in new surroundings. A balcony is always much safer than a first floor walkout to water. The rooms were clean but not spotless. The noise variable - sometimes very quiet & other times very loud when people were in the hallways or above you. The restaurant was not prepared for the guests at night so the wait times were long due to minimal staff. We saw the host jump in several times to help which was appreciated. Breakfast wasn’t great - a very basic continental breakfast that we skipped after the second day & went to eat in town. Parking free & easy. The views are beautiful but due to multiple issues encountered throughout our stay we won’t be back. Tip: Bring your own crib. We called on the phone a few days prior to arriving & NEVER once was a fee mentioned. We never would have used their very small metal crib for the cost, could have just bought a new pack and play. Front desk staff defensive, completely unapologetic for excessive fees that were not at all communicated to the consumer.
