I worked with Renee in the catering department for food for a wedding reception on a boat through Acadian Boat Tours. We rented a private charter boat for 20 guests, which is docked in the same location as Atlantic Oceanside Hotel. There is a menu pre-selected for the boat, which was a combo of mini appetizers (lobster rolls croissants, mini sandwiches, chips, fruit skewers, caprese skewers, bruschetta crostini, whoopie pies). We added on a veggie tray and a small 1-layer cake. It was very reasonably priced, packaged well, and was excellent for our needs. It was a little something for everyone and was delicious. Renee was exceptional to work with - we had several calls and she was very well organized. If you're looking for boat catering, I highly recommend!

Nice ocean view balcony in the room and friendly staff

Friendly hotel with ocean view balconies just outside Bar Harbor. We enjoyed the continental breakfast and the outside tables to dine by the water view. There were two queen beds in the spacious room so all four of us could stay in one room. Housekeeping staff was very kind and friendly. They have a shuttle into town during the peak season which would have been nice.

Disappointing.

I can’t begin to tell you how messed up this place is. Front desk check-in person was rude. I asked to extend my 2 night stay to a 3rd night and was told “no availability”. The building is half empty (minimum). Apparently they don’t need the revenue. Then the cable is gone…..nothing, nada! Maybe they couldn’t pay the bill. Disgusting. So sad to see a place that used to be very good drop this far down in quality.

Beautiful views, nice hotel

We stayed in the family suite for 3 nights. We had a king bedroom and another room with 2 queen beds (for the kids). We (mistakenly) thought we'd have 2 bathrooms as well but the 6b of us shared a bath so that was a bit of a pain. Also, I thought the king room would be the one with the balcony but it was the other way around. The queen part of the suite was the much larger, nicer room. Not a pro or a con, just a fact. View of Frenchmen's Bay was spectacular. See below for sunset photo. Breakfast which is included was bountiful (you can eat it there or get it to go). Hot breakfast sandwich each morning (different one each day of the week which is nice), hot oatmeal, yogurts, muffins, pastries, cereal, milk, juices. They have an indoor/outdoor pool and fitness room (we didn't use any of them because we were hiking a lot). Very close and convenient to Bar Harbor center (about 1 mile walk into town...they do not have a shuttle). Easy 3 min. drive. About 5 min from Acadia. Boat tours leave from their dock daily (for an extra fee but it's super convenient if this is something you want to do). They have an onsite Bistro open from 4-p.m. but we didn't eat there so I can't say anything about it, but the views are pretty if eating there. There is a also a little beach area by the boat pier, but the water is probably too cold to swim in.

Close to Acadia and excellent Gluten Free Options

The hotel is ideally located 4 minutes away from the Acadia National Park visitors center. If you are coming to Bar Harbor to spend time in the park, this is an ideal location. It's close enough that you can go into and out of the park multiple times in a day. We're very pleased with the hotel. Rooms are spacious and well-equipped with microwave and refrigerator. The breakfast is really nice--including freshly baked goods and hot egg sandwiches -- and they can give gluten free options as well. Front desk staff was very helpful with giving restaurant recommendations and booking boat cruise (that leaves from the hotel--how convenient!). I would definitely come back here!
