Driving up to the Columbia icefields with green everywhere then you hit pure snow all around and this hotel setting is just in a magic place. Perfect views of the Glacier and the service was fantastic. Dinner while watching the snow come down was just amazing. Just added more excitement to the trip.. Thank you so much for the experience.

Definitely worth staying

The hotel itself is getting a little dated and some things need replacing but it is so worth staying overnight - to have the glacier pretty much to yourself from 5 onwards until 9 is amazing - it gets so quite and you get to appreciate the glacier more. We were lucky enough to have it snow slightly while we were there which made the views of the glacier from our room really pretty - only hassle the next day was trying to clear the snow off the top of our car as its outside parking but that did not take long.

Best location directly on top of Columbia Icefield Discovery Centre. Convenient parking. We are a group of 5 and and booked two rooms for a night. Later found out that the rooms are spacious and have enough beds for 5; 1x queen/ two singles and a sofa bed. Should have booked just one. The view from the room was fantastic facing Athabasca Glacier. Beds are comfortable. Had a great experience dinning at Altitude restaurants for dinner, quiet, great view, attentive staffs and food was delicious. So we went back for lunch; it was a mistake; they serve buffet lunch; too crowded, food too long to refill and angry inpatient staffs who show faces and gave rude replies when asked for refill. Quality of food isn't there either. Stay away for buffet lunch.

You can starve waiting for entry into the restaurants.

The view was spectacular, rooms were acceptable. The restaurants was a big issue, being the only place where we can go eat, they should have been more efficient with accommodating and acknowledging patrons that are standing at the front. The restaurant was only half open for the duration of our stay, considering it was a busy time of the year for tourists.

We were a party of four adults from the UK, we stayed for one night on the 11 th Sept. A pleasant enough hotel disappointed with the view (called glacier view) ours was of a back yard, the room was ok not particularly clean beds were comfortable, the tourist restaurant closed at 6pm so was forced to eat in a more expensive up market restaurant, food ok nothing special with a limited menu, we waited for the tourist restaurant to open at 10am for breakfast the next day. My advice would be to do the ice fields from Banf or Jasper so as not to get ripped off at this very touristy spot
