The amazing staff of the Crowsnest are just one reason for my good review. Andres has a gift for getting to know the guests, anticipating needs and providing solutions. Susan too goes above and beyond. The shuttles to and from the Denali visitor center make a car unnecessary. The on-site restaurant is excellent and appears to be a town favorite. Make reservations. The rooms are simple, no fuss comfortable. There can be stairs, and there will be help with luggage. But again...the staff is exceptional.

Our allocated room was substandard 1) shower controls not working; high risk for burn 2) carpet stained 3) Mattress cover torn 4) Toilet lid missing 5) No breakfast facility. Boxed breakfast is expensive and cold 6) Rooms high up climb stairs 7) Expensive hotel We had to request for a change in room which was much better Pros Friendly and helpful staff, Andreas the manager and Daniel

“Rustic” cabins should not be another word for unmaintained cabins that are quite literally falling apart and a health hazard. My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon ($400 per night for a 4 star cabin, we expected a much different environment). The front door has large gaps between the door and frame, there is trim missing and falling off doors / door frames throughout the cabin, the bathroom sink was in the bedroom not even 1 foot from the bed, which was great when the sewage smell came through the drain, the walls are cracked, the room is slanted, there is plywood under the mattress, the mattress is covered in plastic sheeting so it’s very loud anytime you move, I had to request room service for new towels and trash removal after 3 days of no service (and they did the bare minimum), and my personal favorite was the ceiling covered in black mold in the bathroom and fungus growing in the shower. The ONLY good thing was convenient location to the National park. We tried booking another hotel while there and everything else was booked, which should have been a red flag when j booked that this hotel had availability when everywhere else was sold out. I complained in person and over the phone, management does not care for the health or happiness of their customers. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Has potential but needs a lot of work

This place needs a good deep cleaning to get rid of the ick feel. The showers looked dirty and had dust/dirt in corners. It also needs some new support beams or something. Our room was leaning to one side and it felt like I was walking in a slanted house. The balconies/boardwalk/walkways to the rooms could use some upkeep too and were all leaning or patched up. Otherwise the place has some charm and would/could be awesome. We did eat at the restaurant. it was good and had a nice view on the balcony. It too is leaning way more than our room. Our server was so nice. If you have mobility issues you might need to find somewhere else to stay. there are a lot of stairs and you have to walk a long way to your room if they put you on the end like they did us. It wasn't a problem for us but I could not see my mom navigating those stairs and walking that distance to her room. Wifi was slow but the tv worked great. Not sure I'd stay here again unless they do renovations on the whole place but it worked out for us for one night.

So we booked this place months in advance --and I understand now why this place was the only one with vacancies. The place looked great online. The hotel shuttle picked us up at the Train station- the two employees were friendly and helpful with our bags. We got to the hotel lobby and we’re told our room wasn’t ready and we could check our luggage with them (leave our bags sitting in the very small lobby). We did and said we understood and decided to explore the Denali village for a while. We returned after 4 hours and were told our room was still not ready. The front desk person was so apathetic and even ignored our questions on when we could expect to get the room— I mean completely would not answer the question— would not look at us or talk to us. The other worker heard this and she continued to look down. Neither one responded. Very Awkward —More people arrived and were given keys to their room as we stood by listening in disbelief. After about 30 more minutes one of the shuttle drivers walked in and asked if we had our room yet. When he learned that we were still waiting he rushed to the desk and within 10 minutes he had us a room. I know these are probably people who work on contract and could really care less about customer service— this was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel and on this 14 day trip it was our least favorite place to stay- only because of those two front desk incompetents - Book with caution- if at all.
