this is my second trip to the Bug. I was there for a yoga retreat and both were awesome.
first and foremost---caroline the owner---she is the best. she goes out of her way to make your stay comfortable and pleasant. no matter what we asked, she had the answers. she and her staff were so accommodating.
the Bug itself is divided into cabins which are mostly on the hillside and are wonderful. my cabin had the most comfortable king bed, mini frig, hairdryer, toiletries, table and chairs, balcony, nice size shower with good water pressure, plenty of drawers and hooks, great lighting, plenty of outlets---so very comfortable.
our retreat included the food and believe me---the meals are amazing. we had a number of choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. there was also wine available for purchase. one of the great services they provided involves lunch. because so many people go to Yosemite right after breakfast, they provided a bagged lunch. really nice. I should mention that the cafe is so inviting and clean.
on property is a spa, sauna, jacuzzi, and massage.
there are also some trails you can hike, a place for a bonfire, and the yoga room is incredible. there are a few games like foosball too.
Yosemite is about 45 min away and you can drive or use shuttle transportation.
I am already booked for next October.
try the bug. you won't regret it.

Wanted something a bit off the beaten track, was in beautiful surroundings, with pleasant staff. The June Bug restaurant was great. Lovely food, nice staff and they had a great lunch trail pack up lunch offer to take when going to the park which was around 45m - 1 hr away. We used the Yarts service which was really good.

Nice spot on the way to Yosemite

It has a shared kitchen and a restaurante for breakfast.
Very nice mattress, and air conditioned for heating the room. The bathroom was actually a little cold. No wardrobes.

Somewhere a bit different

We had no trouble parking on the same level as our cabin, meaning we only had to carry our luggage up 1.5 flights of steps and along level paved paths or decking.
As expected the cabin was rather old fashioned in its furnishings but everything was clean and worked fine, except the fridge when we first arrived but that was fixed immediately by the helpful receptionist resetting the breaker.
The food at breakfast and dinner, plus the “trail” packed lunches was great and we made good use of the laundry facilities. It was lovely to be able to stay in the middle of nowhere, so far from home in the UK, but with all the facilities that we could need on hand.

Disappointing Experience at Yosemite Bug Rustic Mountain Resort

Published Date: May, 6, 2024 Travel Date: Apr, 1, 2024 Rating: 1 When I made a reservation at Yosemite Bug Rustic Mountain Resort, I opted to pay a premium for a room that promised more privacy. However, upon my arrival, they assigned me to a shared dormitory with 12 other individuals. Despite my dissatisfaction and protest, they informed me that my preferred room was unavailable and that this was the only option they could provide. Their response displayed a complete lack of concern for my comfort and grievances, suggesting instead that I should be grateful for having a place to sleep. After persistently raising my concerns for two days regarding the breach of my reservation, they eventually relocated me to the originally chosen room. The receptionist, unfortunately, lacks any hospitality training, demonstrating rudeness in her communication and failing to instill any confidence in the guests.
