This is a very cool building, built in the 1890's. In the 1960's it was converted into a hotel. Looks very authentic - victorian era. We stayed here 3 nights in a "King room with sitting area". The room was a decent size, but the "sitting area" only had 2 wooden chairs (was hoping for something a bit softer). Our room had an in-room bathroom, but many of the rooms in the hotel have separate bathrooms down the hall. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and the place was fairly quiet. My only complaint is the king bed in our room - mattress was WAY to soft (woke up with a backache).
I would stay here again, for something different. Next time I want to try the King Jacuzzi room!!

Why not stay in a Castle! ✨🏰✨
I always stay here when in the area! 🏰 It is an older establishment as you can tell
by the rooms, their size and style. I come here for the charm and especially the restaurant and bar that is in the hotel. 🍱🍹 It is Asian fusion with vegan options which I appreciate, sourced with local fresh ingredients and always delicious! 😋 I highly recommend staying here when you’re in Port Townsend which is just a short gallop away from the Castle! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We just spend 2 night and 3 days at the castle and had a wonderful time. I can not wait to go back. The staff was wonderfully perfect. Yes you need a key to get up the elevator because it old and needs valet to usher you up. Not a big deal. It sets up your experience to more of a personal one. Remember the hotel is pretty old, so things are not modern and perfect which gives it a unique charm.
You can tell by walking up the stairs that its well visited. The wood is vintage and beautiful. Also all the doors have a plaque with a persons name and profession from the 1800.
It saddens me when people give hotels a bad rating due to it age and charm.
My floors, bathroom, sheets were very clean and well maintained. You also had a kerieg coffee pot and frig in the room>>
I also didn't pay $$$ to stay there. If I had I would expect more>>$$$.. depending on the time of the year and the day of the week and yes also the room, (there are some that have haunted activities in them) the price varies.
Also this is a very small community, there really isn't a $$$ hotel in Port Townsend. If they had hotels that were expensive they wouldn't survive. Its a weekend and summer town and if you had to support a fine hotel then it would go out of business.
This is why Manresa Castle is perfect. The doors are locked to get inside the building, a lot of places to stay are Motels in Port townsend not Hotels
Also if possible you should go to the light house and the battery on the beach.
Just once again the staff from the front desk and the gal who clean the room were very kind and sweet.

Unique accommodation within Walking Distance of Downtown
This castle is location a little above Port Townsend on a hill before you enter Downtown. We got a great corner room with views of downtown and the ferry servicing the area from there with great water views. It is just a 40 minute walk down to the downtown area or minutes by car.
The building and rooms are getting a little outdated and would be nice to modernize a bit but still has old charm. The bathroom shower was tiny with hardly any room, but the water pressure was pretty good. A good sized closet with plenty of hooks was very convenient. Has a heater and ceiling fan but no A/C.
The entry door has a translucent window pane on top and did not have night out shades which was a little disturbing to sleep with lights on outside.
No breakfast served even though there is a restaurant on premises with lunch and dinner served. Would be nice to include breakfast in the room rate and also offer room-service.
Good Parking on premises available. Good WiFi connection though it seemed a little slow.
