Amazing setting, great staff but must say it felt a bit overpriced

This is our second stay at Red Cliffs and we enjoyed it as much as the first. Stayed for 6 nights this time. We agree with all the positive reviews submitted but given there is absolutely no housekeeping it felt overpriced. We completely understand and value the property's COVID restrictions. However, having to report to the front desk daily for toilet paper, towels, K-cups, tissues, garbage bags, etc. wore a little thin. Plus we were told to put our garbage on our steps first thing in the morning although it sat unattended throughout the day. The room rate we paid just didn't seem to merit the level of service provided by the property.

This was a wonderful place to stay. The rooms were clean, had a kitchenette and had spectacular views of the red cliffs and Colorado River. Staff were very courteous; dinner in their dining room was great (highly recommend the elk medallions!) We went horseback riding; their staff was knowledgeable and friendly and the horses were well-trained and easy to ride, which was a big plus for our novice riders. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Great hotel, but BBQ buffet disgusting

We came many times to stay at the hotel, always happy . We as group of 10 people wanted to walk today to the open covered wood building where they have a lunch buffet . $12 per person. A "cook" stands over the big fire grill, tosses pre-cooked meat patties over the grill, re-cooks patties again, the meat is horrible, tastes like the cheapiest crap to be found and waaaay overdone . Buns are dry white something supposed to be bread. No chicken option. Hot dogs big but tasteless. And what the cashier and cook calls prime rib is nothing more than DELI SLICED THIN roast beef, over cooked and cooked again in hot water till it's HARD. Red Cliffs should not allow such 3rd world meal be sold at not even free. It's bad, worst than dog food. Its a RIP OFF.

RED CLIFFS Lodge Barbecue buffet the worst anywhere

The Lodge is my favorite yearly. They advertise a BBQ lunch buffet next building near the Lobby. But...the Lunch BBQ buffet is the worst anywhere in the USA. Buns bread is stale-tasting, bleached white flour dry as bone, disgusting taste. Meat patties hi-fat , cooked as a hard rock, cardboard taste. They advertise Prime Rib , but it's paper thin slices... it's deli thin sliced roast beef , cooked to hard boiled slices. No chicken..cook says it's available only sometimes. Hot dogs run of the mill. Salad much better. Cookies store-bought but ok. But $15-$13 per person for the fake BBQ? Come on, you think we are stupid?

Poor Service For the Price

We spent four nights in a Red Cliffs Lodge two-bedroom cabin at $365 a night. The cabin was only modestly clean, and the electric heaters did not work well. The kitchenette was tiny. Worse than all that, when we asked for blankets, we were told we could come get them at check-in--which was several city blocks away. The same was true for picking up take-out food from the restaurant and returning the dishes. My daughter nearly dropped our meals hauling them all that way in the canvas bag they gave her. The scenery was great but this distant, indifferent place isn't worth it.
