Big Ideas, Mediocre Follow-Through
They have a great web-site and advertise a good mix of activites, including world-class golf, so we were looking forward to this stop. Well, it's a rather forlorn place. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but the rooms need updating and the carpets felt unclean. The real disappointment was the golf. We'd reserved rental clubs ahead of time, but come the day, there were no proper sets available. These were the clubs in my bag: pitch, 9, 8, two 6 irons, a 5 hybrid and driver. One of our players is a single digit left-hand player. They knew this, but only offered an old, oddly selected collection of old steel shafts. In their defense, they gave us a break on the price, but that doesn't really satisfy the enjoyment of the game. All in all, it's too far off the Klamath path to make the detour. I wouldn't plan my trip around it.

Great Wedding Venue, but
I attended a great wedding here that seemed well set up and orchestrated by hotel Staff. Many family stayed at homes among golf course and liked those but some of us took rooms in hotel. Many of the rooms need a fresh coat of paint, have small needed repair issues such as clinking in bathroom fan, loose towel racks. Food in hotel was so-so but they did accommodate my plant based diet. Cousins liked the golfing. Not sure I would come back as nothing really attracted me to setting.

Excellent Massages at Sandhill Spa!
My husband, golden retriever, and I stayed at the Running Y Ranch on our way to California and had an absolutely excellent time! The resort was beautiful, the views were gorgeous, the food was wonderful, the food was excellent, and the spa was super relaxing!! I had a wonderful massage that left me feeling great the entire day! Would definitely recommend to anyone :)

Wonderful place to stay!
We had a wonderful week here in two of the timeshare condos. The condos themselves were super clean, with comfortable beds, nice decor, ample kitchen and dining/seating areas, an easy-to-work propane fireplace, fabulous decks with views, table and chairs, and lovely landscaping. Self parking was nearby and designated. Some stairs, but we had been forewarned about that. Check-in went easily, and the wifi was easy also with guest access and had good coverage.
So we had access to what else makes up the resort. While we did not do any golfing, we did very much enjoy the indoor pool (nice facility, clean) and dined in the more casual Ponderosa Grill (reviewed also) as opposed to the more formal dining room/restaurant in the Lodge. There are lovely paved walkways connecting the numerous buildings, and one which takes you all the way around the golf course....great! They have a wonderful little on-site market as well, which is very well-stocked -- especially with wine, liquor and beer! -- with items for cooking in your own kitchen, as well as ready-mades from their deli: sandwiches, soup, desserts!
So it was for us a lovely place to stay as a group of 5 friends...we rented two condo units, and we all were very pleased. I highly recommend for many reasons!
