How My Reviews Work 5 Stars - Best ever on all experiences. 4 Stars - Best In the area. 3 Stars - Above Average. 2 Stars - Average or maybe a little lower. 1 Star - Below Average. 0 Stars - Terrible to even gross. *Understand this is an individual experience and that doesn’t mean everyone will share the same experiences. We also all have different tastes in what we want and what we taste. When: My wife and I visited in July, for a two night stay. Area: This a resort with a lot to offer (4.5 Stars) Check-In: We were greeted by friendly hosts. It went smoothly. Bailee (not sure if her name is spelled right) - new girl at front desk and checked us in. Very thorough. Alex (her counterpart) was very helpful and they were both respectful and helpful. (4.5 Stars) First impression of the room: The room was huge. We did have an odd smell in it. My wife contacted the front desk to make them aware of it. We were expecting to maybe be offered another room or someone come to help it find where it was coming from. (2.5 Stars) The room had a kitchen (no stove), dining room, living area, and separate bedroom. (4 Stars) The decor was older and lighting could be upgraded (2 Stars) Air conditioner very loud (1 Star) 2 TV’s with dish or cable service. Would be nice to update to smart TV’s. (3 Stars) Fire Place (3.5 Stars) Desk available, little beat up. (2 Stars) View From Room: We really didn’t have much of a view. You could see the parking lot. (2 Stars) Cleanliness: Everything was clean. (4 Stars) Amenities: (3.75 Stars) Man in pool (rec center) - Not welcoming. The girl that was there was welcoming. He didn’t talk to her respectfully. Would have been 4.5 stars if it wasn’t for this interaction. Pool Gym Tennis Skating Grocery Store - Girl at the market was super welcoming and helpful. Great attitude, even though there was no AC. She was fantastic. Restaurant Bar Many sitting areas Conference rooms Golf Course Probably more I am missing Bathroom: (3.5 Stars) Large bathroom. It has a special feature of a force heater, which is nice on cold days. Bed & Sleeping: Bed is nice and we had a good sleep. (4 Stars) Dining: (2.45 Stars) This is where things drop off a little. The Restaurant/Bar is nice and has nice outside seating (although a lot of bird poop on cushions and tables). Food Break Up Rancho (4.5 Stars) Biscuits & Gravy - Came out colder. Flavor was good. (2 Stars) House Salad - Croutons super hard. Chicken was white cubes and tasted weird. (1 Star) Wings - Very Good (4 Stars) Fettuccine - Large portion. Not cooked all the way through and the sauce tasted sour to me. (1.5 Stars) Chicken Enchiladas - Very dry and not very flavorful. (1.5 Stars) Bagel & Cream Cheese - Average (2 Stars) Oatmeal - Below Average (1.5 Stars) Coffee - Below Average (They do have speciality coffees, maybe do that instead) (2 Stars) Adult Beverages - (4.5 Stars) Morgan was the highlight and made amazing drinks. Average Stars: 3.19 Stars We will be back!

The Running Y Ranch Lodge is a very pleasant place to stay. The rooms are very nice and clean. The beds are very comfortable. The front desk clerks meet the guests with big smiles. They try to give the guests a room that they like. The north side of the building has a better view with more to see than the parking lot side.

Overall a disappointment- would not go back.

Lovely grounds and a beautiful place to walk. Very serene and quiet. Our unit was very dated with low end appliances and furnishings. Despite the fact it was a pet friendly unit we expected a higher level of care and cleanliness. The furniture was worn, damaged and not clean. The carpet was dirty and stained and needs replacing. The setting was nice but our unit wasn’t. We were also very disappointed in the lodge restaurant in that they had very limited offerings and those weren’t very good. We would not recommend this place.

Average accommodation in a pretty location.

We have stayed at the resort two years in a row. Each time we have been underwhelmed with the accommodations. Last year the gave us a 2nd floor room overlooking the parking lot. This time we were told they were pretty full and only offered a first floor room. The room they offered was 137, the room next to the staircase and restaurant/bar. We saw the location and asked for another room. The second room was an accessible room on the first floor in a quieter location. The room was ok, nothing fancy, just plain white walls. The room was small and they need to be more soundproofed. The room needed some updates, ac was noisy and cracks in the shower tile. The sink is located in the bedroom area and the toilet and shower are in a separate room that can be closed off. For this price I hope they will improve the rooms. The rooms were clean, no carpets on my floor. I would recommend bringing ear plugs if you are sensitive to noise. The reason for the 3 stars is the location. It is on a nice golf course on rolling hills. You can not see the lake for the rooms, and to access the lake you have go over a hill or so. There are lots of walking trails and many birds and other wildlife. Good place for a wedding. They also have tennis courts, pickleball courts, ice rink and an indoor pool. This resort is located about 15 minutes from town so plan accordingly or eat at the resort. The food was average and cocktails were average too.

I rarely write reviews but this was a different level of disappointment. This should have been a great experience for the price but it was AWFUL. Pros: 1. Golf course was amazing and greens were challenging. 2. Morgan at the Ruddy Duck was on top of it and very friendly. In general, all staff on the property were friendly. Cons: 1. Pet friendly room smelled HORRIBLE. For a pet fee, I expect this to be as clean as other rooms. The room had several stains, spiders, and the rug looked straight out of a dumpster. Again, the smell was so bad I couldn’t sleep. The rest of the room wasn’t exactly dirty, just not clean either. Water pressure was great but tub backed up to ankles during showers. 2. Lunch service at the Ruddy Duck was slow and the fish tacos were burned and inedible. We sat at the bar 1 hour and 45 minutes just for a drink and 2 meals. 3. I booked a pedicure for my daughter and I 1 month in advance. I received a call 3 hours prior that someone called in so it was cancelled- they could not fit us in until 11 days later. 4 Communication about facilities and services was awful. Tried to wash a load of laundry (which required quarters). Front desk, restaurant, and market didn’t have quarters. Wanted to swim and the pool closed early for 4th of July (nobody told us this at check in nor when we called for pool hours). 5. The patio ‘pine view’ room was a spider-infested concrete pad with a literal bush blocking our view to the parking lot. We travel a lot and are happy to pay for quality. This was beyond disappointing for a fee of$700 for 2 nights.
