We escaped here for a few days and had a wonderful time. The lake is beautiful, the hotel is incredible. The rooms were very clean and the kitchen appliances were basically brand new. The downstairs beds were very comfortable. The office staff was very helpful and the in the restaurant, the early bird dinner is a deal to be had.

If you like families having BBQ's outside your "Chalet" room at 10:45 at night, this is your kind of place. 1. WIFI, was non existent. 2. Room TV didn't work. 3. Many of the light bulbs were out in my unit. 4. There was no shower curtain. 5. The Chalet units are attached to each other, so you could hear your neighbors at night. 6. When I went to get registration desk to ask for help, the manager on duty said there was nothing they could not help me fix any of the problems. What a terrible response. 7. Teenagers are running around at 11:00 at night. 8. This place badly needs to be renovated and CLEANED. 9. This was the worst place (out of 6) that we stayed at while we were on this trip. 10. This is a tourist trap, they do great marketing and web promotion which is how I got sucked in. I should have read the reviews first. What a horrible experience. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Recently stayed in a chalet there. Pros: well equipped with everything needed, full kitchen, bbq , terrace, air con. bed was comfortable; awesome smell of pines everywhere around the lake; some chalets have views to the lake ; pet friendly;bar by the lake and good restaurant. Cons: very dusty!!!! I had to check on the air conditioner since there was a problem- huge wad of dust on top. The living room had this fabric couch full of dust too!!! The whole place was so dusty- unbelievable- luckily there was a vacuum in the chalet and we ended up vacuuming the whole place. The whole time we stayed there we never heard a vacuum being used next door even the place changed occupants often. I saw one of the cleaning staff sweeping one day- that is all.The wifi was marginal at times. Pool was closed. Madera county order allowed outdoor pools to be open on the 12th. It did not happen in the resort. They were taking their time to renovate the pool and no credit was given to customers for lack of pool. Made a comment at the end of the stay to staff what was not good- they did not care; nor apologize. Indifferent. Otherwise- the lake is great;and the whole Madera county is very conservative and peaceful. Just for that reason alone visitors should go and forget any bad things happening in the world.

Outstanding experience! Family of 5 for a 3 day trip. We stayed in room 16 (honeymoon suite) biggest room available. Master king bedroom, queen pullout, twin rollaway. Great views from room. Overlooking docks, lake, and pool. Ate at Duceys for lunch and breakfast- perfect with kids. Ate at Pines Village Pizza & Bakery - great pizza, lattes and donuts. Ate at Marina Bar & Grill- great for dinner Rented a pontoon boat for 4 hours ($164) toured the lake and then anchored and swam. We all Loved It! We even saw a bald eagle. Drive up to the South Gate entrance at Yosemite and hike to the Grizzly Giant trees. Great experience all around - couldn’t be better for a 3 day mid-week summer trip.

We stayed in a Chalet and it was great, very spacious and comfortable. We also rented a pontoon boat and that was so much fun!! The Pines resort is definitely a place we will go back to. It wasn't our first time there but it was our first time renting a boat so it was a new experience we got to enjoy and it was so awesome!!!!
