I have no idea where the other reviewers stayed, but we had a first-class experience here. We stayed in room 211 with two queens. The front desk girl was a college student with impecable skills in communication and service. The room was very clean and spacious and overlooked the golf course. The large bathroom with double vanities was a plus. They even provided two bathrobes for the guests. We had dinner in the very stunning dining room, although it was so empty we felt a little abandoned. We had a chicken dish and a tenderloin meal and both were first-rate. Meals and drinks were moderately priced for a vacation venue. The chocolate mousse desert was to die for. We've been to nearly 500 hotels over the years and this one was at least an eight on a scale of one to ten. Where do these whiners come from?

First had the Loft Rooms, and then switched to 'regular rooms'.. Loft rooms are not well appointed for seniors....steep stairs to climb from bedroom to bathroom. Very helpful in changing out rooms and helping with restaurants, etc.

One of the worst experiences we have ever had. Dirty and did not even clean what we pointed out to them. Changes due to covid were not communicated to us at check in. Front desk staff were not knowledgeable of current changes.

We needed a stay for one night and heard good things about this place from a friend with family who lives in the area and from another hotel that had no vacancies. We wanted a king bed and there was only 1 left- their Rain Shower Loft room for (with tax) $357.00. The lobby was beautiful but the elevator floor filthy and disgusting—our feet stuck to it when we walked. The Rain Shower bathroom was magnificent but the rest of the room filthy, old and dilapidated. The coffee table was chipped and scratched and had permanent glass rings on it. The couch and rugs looked like they hadn’t been replaced in at least 30 years. My skin crawled just to sit on the couch. There was a chair in the living area but you you could not sit in it because there were no springs and you sank to the base. I gave it the Grouse Mountain Lodge 2 stars, and that’s generous, for the location and for the grounds. Would not recommend this at all until major renovations were done!

Poor service and communication

Poor communication and bad attitude from the night front desk person and the barista. Both seemed put out and were short with the guests. Aware that changes have to be made due to COVID, but these were not proactively communicated. IF you did not ask, you did not know. It should have been easy to communicate this to the guests to make our stay enjoyable. Looked at leaving the hotel after 2 days, but stayed hoping it would get better. It did not.
