Grouse Mountain Lodge is a pretty property. It is in a great location, close to downtown Whitefish which has great shopping and restaurants. It is also 40 minutes from the west Glacier Park entrance. They have one restaurant which is reasonably priced and has a pretty good variety. The property has a fitness center and golf course. The laundry facilities were also very convenient. Price was a little on the high end but comparable to other resort type hotels. The only negatives were the walls were thin and we could here the people above us walking around, the beds were a little soft and the AC was a little noisy. The hotel staff were all very friendly.

We visited Grouse Mountain Lodge for a family wedding. We were very pleased with the staff. They were very informative and friendly. The rooms could use a little updating BUT we were comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the restaurant was! I'm a little leery of hotel restaurants but this place was good!! We ended up joining a big group in the restaurant/bar that Saturday night. There was live music playing and we had a great time with the singer/piano player Will Peterson (I think that was his name). He told us later that "we made his night"! Being from south Louisiana, we love music and definitely know how to have fun. We used the hotel shuttle service regularly and it was great. So handy and reliable. I would recommend the Grouse Mountain Lodge for any one traveling in the Whitefish, Glacier National Park area. :-)

We just finished a trip to Glacier National Park and stayed at the Grouse Mt. Lodge for 9 nights. We chose it because of proximity to Whitefish, while not being too far from the Park. It's a nice property and we had the Nordic Queen Room- which was large, nicely decorated and had a very comfortable bed/linens. Also appreciated the mini-fridge and coffee maker area outside the bathroom, as well as having two vanity counter space/sinks- one inside the bathroom and one outside. We had a great view of the adjoining golf course. The Lodge's sitting area with stone fireplace and the restaurant/outdoor patio are lovely (though I could personally do without the taxidermy!) as well. My only complaint was housekeeping- they have a system that I appreciated where you can skip service and earn a $5 coupon (good for your bill, in the restaurant and gift shop)- thus saving water and resources. However, twice when I put it out the maids cleaned anyway. When we did request service, we found they didn't vacuum (hallway where we were could also have used some attention...) and they wouldn't bother to replace coffee, TP or kleenex. We left empty water bottles next to the trash cans (no recycling bins that I saw) and the maid would leave them. Overall, though, a nice property and decent value. Reservation, check-in and check-out were smooth and there is a helpful concierge service. There is an indoor pool which we didn't use- generally full of kids in any case. Also a nice outdoor area with a large, multi-person hot tub and a fire pit; oddly, though, no where to just lay out in the sun in that area.

From the moment we arrived the staff, catering, drivers and everyone at the hotel gave us five star service for 5 days.. We had room service every morning and the food was very good and cooked perfect. We had several meals at the Lodge and every meal was great. We had a party (Meet and Greet) on the deck the first night and it was handled in a first class manner. The staff Heather and Brandt did an excellent job.. We worked the catering Manager Tyler Uhlenbrack several weeks before we arrived and he did an excellent in selecting the food items to serve our guest. We had a great time around the Fire Pit at night sipping on wine and enjoying our guest

The room was almost $400 a night and we stayed there because of a wedding. When we checked in we were told that our TV didn’t work; we had one channel and our remote was not compatible with our TV. They made no attempt to fix the TV or provide some kind of compensation. We ordered room service one night and they forgot half of our order completely, and the food was very average. Overall it was just extremely expensive for the quality of the room. The location was great, as were the amenities, and the free shuttle downtown was convenient.
