Coy charming cabin resort out in the woods
It was such a lovely stay. We had a one-bedroom cabin with fireplace right by the pool which was an upgrade that Tom gave us since this stay was part of our wedding anniversary road-trip. Jacuzzi was really relaxing. Restaurant was very high quality and reasonably priced given how good it was. Internet was fast, room was cozy. This was part of a road trip so we just stayed one night but if we came back out for a longer trip there in the summer, we would totally stay again but for a longer stay to really take it all in and maybe invite some friends as a group.

So sad we could only stay one night...
We only stayed one night, wish we could have stayed longer. Traveling from San Francisco we drove in and at night we didn't realize until day time the majestic views around you. Tired from a full day we got there about 945pm, I had left a note upon booking that we were a late check in and when we walked in knew our name and were expecting us. We took our luggage to this cozy cabin that added to the ambiance of the forrest around you. Very clean, no tv which was nice for a change, had an old style heater which added extra homey feeling. They told us about the tavern onsite which closed at 10pm we had about 7 mins at this point but after the long day we could definitely use a night cap. Earlier I had popped in for directions to reception desk and they were very welcoming so I thought lets just try. We walked in chairs were put up etc and said we knew they were closing but asked if she mind we have a drink if it wasn't to much trouble. There was only 2 other people there and she said of course she knew we had just got in and helped us promptly. They had a full bar with local selections which I love. She actually let us have a few and we had a nice conversation with her and another employee there. They recommended us go to the rec. Ctr in the morning so they can give us key points to visit since our stay was brief which we did do and was well worth. We had breakfast at the restaurant on site was unexpected such nice staff and not your average breakfast. Not only tasted good but put effort in presentation which we are foodies so we appreciate the effort, and price was very reasonable.
We will definitely go back and stay longer and take advantage of the trails they have from the lodge there, their pool, hot tub, nicely lit outdoor area, pool and shuffleboard, and even a massage! We thank you for such a memorable stay and look forward to returning in the future. We will definitely recommend to anyone heading to Yosemite.

An incredible place
We were slightly apprehensive about booking Evergreen purely because it was not within the Yosemite Valley, but once we arrived we had no regrets at all.
Evergreen was nothing short of idyllic and is the perfect setting for a couples getaway or a holiday with family and friends. The surrounding area is incredible, and we were able to explore so much more than we planned to due to the location. The bar and restaurant were above what we expected. the staff were friendly and attentive and the food was exceptional on every occasion (and we ate there A LOT).
We have already recommended Evergreen to some friends and we are also planning on returning.

Outside the Yosemite Park gates: The good and the bad.
Because it was cold out, our room was beautifully "cozy." There was a wonderful fireplace that was connected to the thermostat, so when you needed heat, the fire would turn on. Our room was the best part of our experience at the hotel... We loved it. It's a longish trip after a long day of hiking and exploring in the Park, back to the hotel, we couldn't wait to get a good dinner and perhaps some wine. The restaurant was NOT good, and unprepared for the amount of people who were there. The food after a VERY long wait, showed up cold and disappointing. I waited for about 10 minutes for the anyone to help us find a table... nobody came, waiters, others who worked there just walked by without ever a look or a word to let us know someone would at some point show up(because they too were swamped); we just ate at the bar. The next night, we grabbed cold food at the market in the park and ate that in our room. It was so much better, not to mention, so much cheaper than the disappointing restaurant.
I have a feeling for a couple, the Fall-winter/early spring is the best, because it looks like families would be everywhere in the summer, and that's kind of what it's about. We appreciate that, but were there for quiet, peaceful exploration of the one of the most beautiful places on earth...Yosemite National Park.

Rustic comfort next door to Yosemite
What a woodland gem this is. The cabins, main buildings and grounds offer a comfortable relaxing atmosphere of days gone by. It's not fancy, but the resort more than meets your basic needs for a getaway from the hustle-bustle of modern life. Of course, the National Park is right there to inspire you, but Evergreen has plenty of diversions -- pool, hot tub, playgrounds, small zip lines, horseshoes, etc. - outside your door. The food in the restaurant is excellent too, The lodge is very close to the Hetch-Hetchy dam and reservoir (the Bay Area's source of water) and it's well worth a couple of hours to do some hiking there.
