We enjoyed our stay at the B&B in Southwest Harbor. We got a friendly welcome with an explanation of how things are run at the Inn and some Tipps on thw surroundings. The room was on the top floor, lugging the suitcase up the stairs was a challenge. The room was clean and nice. Breakfast on the porch was superb and the complementary coffee appreciated.

We were a family of four and stayed in the Southwester suite for about a week. We really enjoyed the space, the full kitchen, three bedrooms etc. However, upon arrival to what we thought was a full-service inn, we felt that it had a very VRBO feel; we ran to store right away and purchased proper hand and bath soap, tissues, toilet paper, paper towels, etc so that we could feel comfortable. We are from Texas which is relatively “new” compared to the north east and struggled will all of our lodging choices whilst in Maine as they seemed old and the decor outdated, and this was no exception. While the suite had great space and layout the furniture including a couch and lazy boy were in great need of a refresh. The innkeepers were great and served a nice breakfast on a lovely porch each morning. We liked the location of the inn outside of Bar Harbour very much and enjoyed the ability to walk from the inn to a lot of good restaurants; all of the sites and state park were very accessible.

Charming historic bed and breakfast. Welcoming staff, comfortable bedroom and common area. You are on the quiet side of the island, so plan on lots of personal time. Easy access to Acadia and Bar Harbor if you want to visit the "noisy side."

We spent 2 nights at this delightful inn and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! When you walk through the doors you will be delighted with the warmth and quaintness of the home... decorated so, so cute! The owner was friendly and very helpful directing us on what to do in Bar Harbor. The staff was gracious and so helpful! Great find!!!!

Nice, but Very Disappointing Communication with Guests

After reading glowing reviews about this place, I called to inquire about a room. So many reviews said how nice Don was, so I was looking forward to chatting with him, but he never returned my initial call. Time was getting tight, so I booked it anyway. When I got a welcome email a week before my visit, I responded asking about solo offers, since the biking and sunset tours were for couples only. I never got a response to that either. I called the day of to see about checking in early, wound up leaving a voicemail and still never heard anything again. I came to learn that they're changing over management, but it's still no excuse for poor communication before a guest has even arrived. It leaves a bad taste in one's mouth before they've even set foot on the property. Speaking of bad tastes, the fruit that was served with the French toast was warm and from a can. Given the amount I spent, I would have expected fresh fruit. I also was led to believe I'd see the water from my window, but it was only a sliver of a view. The new guy, Arlo I believe is his name, was nice, apologetic and helpful, but overall, I would not go back.
