Charming and delightful!
We spent 2 nights at this delightful inn and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! When you walk through the doors you will be delighted with the warmth and quaintness of the home... decorated so, so cute! The owner was friendly and very helpful directing us on what to do in Bar Harbor. The staff was gracious and so helpful! Great find!!!!

Nice, but Very Disappointing Communication with Guests
After reading glowing reviews about this place, I called to inquire about a room. So many reviews said how nice Don was, so I was looking forward to chatting with him, but he never returned my initial call. Time was getting tight, so I booked it anyway. When I got a welcome email a week before my visit, I responded asking about solo offers, since the biking and sunset tours were for couples only. I never got a response to that either. I called the day of to see about checking in early, wound up leaving a voicemail and still never heard anything again.
I came to learn that they're changing over management, but it's still no excuse for poor communication before a guest has even arrived. It leaves a bad taste in one's mouth before they've even set foot on the property.
Speaking of bad tastes, the fruit that was served with the French toast was warm and from a can. Given the amount I spent, I would have expected fresh fruit.
I also was led to believe I'd see the water from my window, but it was only a sliver of a view.
The new guy, Arlo I believe is his name, was nice, apologetic and helpful, but overall, I would not go back.

We stayed with our family for two nights. The cottage was spacey, clean and nicely arranged. The kitchen was fully equipped. Breakfast was very delicious and staff polite and attentious. Absolutely recommandable!

Great /bed and breakfast. Arlo met us at checkin. Very nice young man who grew up in the area so is very familiar with the town. The inn is absolutely beautiful with perfect accommodations. The rooms was very large with a nice sized full shower tub. We had a corner room on the 2nd floor. During our stay the highway dept was working on street repairs so the noise was an issue, But that is just the time of year
Stairs are very steep so keep that in mind, The property is beautiful and within walking distance of the bus and the water ferry and most importantly Beal's Restaurant. Parking is ample. Tv in our room but we very seldom turned it on, Lots of games, books and magazines in the common area with hot water and coffee 24 hours, Refrigerator downstairs and wine glasses and openers as well. front porch is huge with large wicker chairs and tables perfect for enjoying evening drink, USE THE MOSQUITO SPRAY. Breakfast was not a WOW! Lots of opportunities to improve there. I would stay here again.

Friendly staff; great food; and Acadia!
Great time visiting Acadia and surrounding area. We chose to stay in Southwest Harbor to get a quieter location. The staff at Harbour Cottage Inn were wonderful; Arlo and Don were friendly and helpful. Don suggested visiting Asticou Gardens, which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Breakfast on the porch was relaxing and excellent every day. Our room was clean and well maintained. The owners could put some effort into the landscaping (some things are a bit overgrown/unkempt), but we had a great stay overall.
