Lovely office decor, cabin-style rooms, short drive from Denali National Park

This hotel was the only hotel that I could book in the area and it turned to be great actually. No feelings of "no choice" whatsoever. We checked in past 8 pm and so we had our keys in the envelope at the mailbox outside the office with my name on it. It also has a receipt of the booking. The room definitely screams wilderness cabin for me and it added to the Alaskan hospitality feel of it.Blackout curtains were helpful as the near 24-hour daylight definitely takes a toll on sleep. But it was great to witness the midnight sun though! Being located outside the national park was a nice bonus. It's just a short drive away! During checkout, my companion forgot something inside just after dropping the keys at the mailbox, and after waiting 5 minutes for the office to open, the lady gladly handed back our keys to retrieve the forgotten item. So yeah, the lady at the office was very kind!

Don't stay just based on how horrible they treat their staff

Toxic and Horrible management/owner. Don't stay here just on knowing how they treat their staff. Most of their staff is college kids from other countries that apply through Interexchange program to come work in the US for the summer. Their work visas are tied to the place they work so they can't just quit and leave easily. Cheri the manager and Mickey the owner know this so they hold some of their wages until they fulfill their contracts not as a nice bonus at the end of the season so they can use it against them. Towards the end of their contract Cheri tries to do just about anything to get them to quit so they don't have to pay them their wages that they withheld and it's $3 from every hour so that's a big loss in pay. Cheri verbally abuses the staff knowing they don't have any other place to go, no transportation to leave, The staff have to provide their own food, Pay for the awful housing they put them in. When the staff confronts them they are told if they don't like it they can leave! But How??? Where??? This place is rural. The closest airport is 120 miles away. They have no vehicle and their home is in another country. And they also won't get the rest of their pay. They are trapped and have to put up with the abuse. If you keep reading the other reviews there a few more from past employees and also one from a guest who witnessed how she treated the staff and refused to stay. There has to be good reviews from guest because if she treated them like her staff nobody would stay there and she wouldn't have a job but let me tell you I have witnessed the minute they walk out of the lobby she is saying horrible things about them as well. The guests that actually have seen her true character and wrote about it believe them! It is the truth!!! I have seen her treat her staff and some of the guests terrible! I finally had enough and went and talked to the owner, Mickey, and he said he didn't want to hear about it and refused to listen. Come to find out he treats them just as aweful. Also when you start work, in your employee packet is a paper that says the buildings are very old and full of Asbestos. They must have to legally warn their staff about this but obviously don't warn the guests. So you will be staying and sleeping in a room that has Asbestos. If you do decide to stay here have a walk back to where the employees stay and check out their housing/bathrooms/and kitchen area. It's terrible!!! There are plenty of wonderful places to stay in the area. Pay a bit extra and stay there. Aurora Lodge, Denali Lakeview Inn, Totem Inn, White Moose, and more. There are also lots of VRBO and Airbandb. All of these places are around the same area as Denali Park Hotel so what other guests have reported as seeing moose and being out of the noise you will get the same experience at one of the other places. Denali lakeview Inn is just down the road and it is has a lovely lake view. The other accommodations are only a mile or so from this place as well so if you were going to see Moose here you will see it there as well.

We loved this place, a great Mom and Pop style motel. Office is in a railcar, very unique. Office manager extremely helpful, friendly. She had great advice on where to go for meals, which is critical in Alaska! Very inexpensive sodas and snacks in the office fridge. The room was comfy cozy. Very clean. Nice area to talk a walk down the road to stretch our legs. The view all around was mountains.

Very good experience. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Customer service with Sherry was outstanding. A good place for somebody looking for more of a great local experience versus a high-end hotel. Beds were extremely comfortable (on the firm side). Really enjoyed the experience.

A good place to stay

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Denali Park Hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable and the location was good- just a short drive to the park and Healy. We would definitely stay there again
