Location is extremely convenient to Bryce.
With it's "dark sky" lodging and grounds, we saw the Milky Way every night!!
The team there was GREAT, a huge thanks to Kurt, Angela and Noel, for being so helpful and going out of their way to make our experience memorable!!!

That’s not just referencing Bryce National Park, but Under Canvas Bryce Canyon compound in its entirety! This was our first time glamping, and I’ve got to say, not having to pitch your own tent, being able to stand upright in it, having your own shower, space to walk around in, toilet, seating, shower and sink, porch with chairs, with a real bed and not a sleeping bag makes for a great outdoor experience! Especially as you get older and you’re looking for the outdoor experience without the drudgery, inconveniences and potential painstaking process. The DarkSky environment is also conducive to serenity, peace of mind and relaxation with an unadulterated view of the stars that’s unimaginable until you experience it for yourself. Even more so, if you book the stargazing tent with an incredible clear canopy where when you rest your head on the pillow, looking up, and all you see are the galaxies in all its marvelous splendor, and then some! Here you don’t count sheep, count the stars. With the amenities of dining on premises (pretty darn good food by the way), fire pits and s’mores, live music, hiking paths, it all builds up to be a wonderful adventure. Just a few minutes from Bryce Canyon National Park, Bryce Canyon City and Tropic, UT, gives you a chance to gas up, eat up and wander around these small towns. You’re also a short distance from some of the most fantastic natural wonders Utah has to offer. Like Grand Staircase Escalante, Natural Bridge, Red Sands and more. All the amenities here are top notch, the concierge service is great, the service is fantastic, surprisingly fantastic meals and the staff are as excellent as you would find in any top-rated hotel. It’s a fantastic hotel in nature and under the stars! Two words of advice, be aware you are going to be at about 8,000 feet above sea level, breathing does become a little more difficult, especially for us older folk and we with heart conditions – be aware of your limitations. And, as you approach Under Canvass’ last few miles, watch for cattle, as all the area enroute to the site is free range, open grazing. That said, my wife and I had an extraordinary few days there, and we’re happy with the experience. We definitely got turned on to the glamping experience – thankyou Under Canvass, for an outstanding job and such a marvelous time.

A unique lodging experience!

Clearly not traditional camping, but not quite like a hotel either. The location is a bit farther from the National Park than we would have liked (about 20 minutes) but located in a lovely area with well spaced tents. Our stargazer tent was spacious and quite comfortable with a small wood burning stove for heat. By September, the nights at this elevation are quite cold, and on our second morning we woke up to an outside temperature of about 42 F. Unless you are interested in staying up all night feeding the stove there's not much you can do to keep the tent warm. The indoor bathroom facilities were nice and the shower worked well enough although you do need to keep weight on the pull-chain to keep the water running - this can be problematic if you need both hands to wash your hair.
There is no WiFi or electricity in the tents although you are provided with a small phone charger. This wasn't the optimal situation for us with laptops and professional camera gear so we brought along our own solar generator. Although some have complained about the food, we thought is was pretty good, perhaps a bit repetitive if you're staying multiple nights. Overall, we had a very nice time however I do think it's a bit pricey for a tent without any included meals or housekeeping.

Met expectations

It was clean, roomy and well equipped. They provided towels, no bathrobes or slippers, basic soap, shampoo etc. It got very cold at night and they provided a wood burning stove and hot water bottles which stayed warm all night.
They did not service the room, not sure if they were supposed to. It was OK with us since we stayed for 2 nights only. The battery pack they provided did not really work for our various devices so we had to use our car for charging needs. The food was not great but edible.

The staff is kind, warm and welcoming and always very accommodating and helpful.. The food was a particular highlight. It was always fresh and everything we had (which we had 3 dinners there) was very good. They had fun activities which was especially nice for the kids. We had a 18mo and 4yr old and the accommodations, activities, food - simple everything - was great for them and us as well. We are already looking at other Under Canvas locations to stay at.
