The people were very nice and there were more humming birds than I have ever seen in my life! It was interesting place having sheep and goats. They are near a lake but there was not much water since they have had no rain. Even the river going into the lake was completely dry.

This little motel was a great stop when coming out of Sequoia National Park. The rooms are a bit dated, but comfortable and clean. There is a loud air conditioner, but the cool air was appreciated. A mini fridge and coffee maker is provided. It is a bit far from the sights in the park for a base to visit the park in my opinion, but good for either coming or going.

Location, the perfect location! What a beautiful property! The way it is arranged in separate duplex or single style of cabins was perfect! Everything was well maintained, and the owner was friendly and welcoming! Our family enjoyed the pool! The thoughtful arrangement of chair groupings made it the perfect place to play cards and spend time together. We also enjoyed the volleyball net and swings. After touring the park, it was great to have a way to relax! There was also a trail to the river. We enjoyed seeing the goats. Our room had a mini fridge, so it was perfect to keep our fruit/water cool. The owner has so many thoughtful touches - the welcome display in the evening was fun and the lights around the fence perimeter was thoughtful and perfect to help navigate the traffic. There is also ample parking! We will definitely recommend this property for so many reasons and the top of the list is being sooo close to access the park! Also convenient to restaurant options for dinner. Waking in the morning to the mountain view and being able to enjoy a cup of coffee from our porch was memorable!

We picked this motel based on reviews and they were spot on. This is not a fancy motel. However, It is clean, friendly staff , and the location can not be beat. The is a beautiful river that runs along the back of the property. We headed into the the small town for coffee each morning and then off to Sequioa. Our stay was 2 nights.

Wonderful Stay at the Lazy J

This is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places we have ever stayed. It is set near the enormous lake and near all the citrus groves in the area. The lady who checked us in gave us lots of information about the area including restaurant and information about Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks which are just a 15-minute drive up the road. We had a little cottage which was attached to two others. There are also individual cottages which I suspect have kitchenettes. The pool is large, beautiful and inviting. The resort is beautifully landscaped and there are turkeys roaming about the place. There was a laundry room next to our room which had one washer and one dryer. The staff uses them during the day, so they are available when people return from the parks. There were two chairs on our front porch for relaxing and just listening to the birds. There is a play area for the little ones and a disconcerting sign warning of rattlesnakes in the area, just so you know. We had our two little dogs with us and were charged a minimal amount to have them in the room. When making the reservation I got the last room with two double beds. We slept well. There was a coffee maker, small fridge and microwave in the room and a large round table. The only thing we didn't care for was that there were two large living room type chairs around the table. We had to bring in take-out food so would have appreciated regular kitchen chairs so we could eat at the table. A little nook held the coffee maker and there was room for our laptop and a chair. We loved everything about the Lazy J Ranch. The area is incredible and the National Parks a real treasure. Book way ahead to insure you get a cottage at the Lazy J.
