Everything they claim to be and more. Knowledgeable and attentive staff. Clean facilities. Breathtaking views. We had an incredible time and highly recommend for couples and families. Only drawback is the stargazer tent has plexi over it, so you bake in the morning. But I guess it’s necessary in case of rain.

Under Canvas Acadia is the perfect home base to exploring downeast Maine and Acadia National Park. We loved the ability to connect with family and nature in our canvas tent fully equipped with West Elm furniture, a bathroom, and cozy wood stove for the chilly evenings/mornings. The property is located on the water, and oceanfront yoga in the morning was the perfect activity to enjoy. We brought our pup too who also thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Can’t wait to return!

Worst experience ever! Came with a semi handicapped person We had to call for a cart for every move It was raining and cold (not the camps fault) 3 in a tent, not truly suitable or set up for 3. Super super cheap and inadequate bedding Awful pillows No wash cloths Inadequate lighting This is not a 5* experience as the cost would indicate, more like a 2* A major disappointment for huge $$$

If you are black don’t stay here if you’re coming with a large group. They are trying to make claims that my children stole batteries packs and lanterns oh and making claims they found good keys in our tent. I spoke with the front desk to see why I was being charge and the girl hung up on me. Then I spoke with Lisa who is the vernal manager of she was soooo rude. At first I enjoyed the vibes of this place but now I know they’re prejudice. In all basically we should had walked on egg shells

Glamping with a Gorgeous View

I have always wanted to go to Acadia and when I saw Under the Canvas featured in the New England Coastal Magazine, I definitely wanted to check it out as we wanted to do a "glamping" trip this summer. The tents were very nice with private bathrooms, a wood stove, comfy beds and decor from West Elm. Super Cute! Everything runs off battery packs (fans, lights, USB chargers) that they provide. I must say that the toilet was dirty when checking into our tent. The staff were all very friendly, the restaurant was delicious but a little pricey. Each night the fire pits get lit and they provide s'mores onsite for guests to enjoy which I thought was great. Just to note, they don't allow food inside the tents because of critters. We kept our cooler out in our car and anytime we would need a snack for the kids we would go to the restaurant with our food. You can bring water and drinks to the tent. There is no place to cook your own food, so you are mostly ordering from their restaurant depending on what you pack. The view of the water is gorgeous! We stayed in a woodsier area and right next to the beach path. Just to note, with all of the rain we had this summer, the path was VERY wet! The beach is nice when the tide is low for kids to look for crabs and snails. It is a short 30 minute drive to Acadia National Park. We woke up one morning to see the sunrise although it was cloudy. Bar Harbor is about 40 minutes away. We all enjoyed staying at Under the Canvas. It was a great experience for the kids and for us!
