We were in one of the rooms along the creek. Took the TripAdvisor tip and got a creekside room & loved hearing the water. If that isn't an option for whatever reason, I'd still stay here, but would stay further back from the road. Room was clean and had a small table, two chairs, frig, coffee maker, micro. Bed was very comfortable and soft sheets. Bathroom wasn't big, but adequate. Outside there was a porch with table and two chairs and there were two adirondack chairs next to the creek. We brought wine, cheese, fruit, etc. & enjoyed sitting outside. I do wish the cleaner/deodorizer didn't have such a strong scent, but it was better after we left the window open. There is a very nice common area with a sheltered cover, bba, tables, games, etc. There is also a fire pit that they will light for you & s'mores supplies can be purchased or you can bring them in. It is about 15 minutes to Denali Visitor Center. We much preferred being a bit further out & not in the area closer in where all the hotels are clustered. Absolute best part of staying here was the cafe (they are also a bakery and make their own sourdough and cinnamon roles). We were there for the rib special-- wow! Breakfasts were also delicious. They also have some foods in the area where you check in and if you want to grab a yogurt or snack bar & espresso that is an option.

Two friends and I stayed at Carlo Guest Cabin in 2018, and 2 of us returned for 4 nights in early September 2021. It was like coming home. The cabin is comfortable and has everything needed for a longer stay. The location is great for access to Denali NP, Denali SP, and the Denali Highway. Highly recommended.

Beautiful location, clean and rustic at the same time---on the creek.

What a nicely managed place. The staff is friendly, responsive and they take good care of the property. Many room types to choose from---but get a cabin by the creek! If the weather is nice, sit, creek-side, and if not, sit on your own private covered deck just a few feet away. Bonus: There's a water spigot and hose next to the parking spot---we really needed to wash off the mud from our Dalton Highway excursion! Bonus #2: The on-site cafe is excellent! When we made the reservation, not only did we get an instant confirm, but the proprietors sent a list of things to do and adventures to book.

We stayed two nights at the Carlo House while we were in Denali. It is the cutest little cabin. It’s a little bit of a walk to the main area where the cabins, creek and cafe are but that’s no biggie. Totally enjoyed our stay here and if we ever go back to Denali will stay here again.

My wife and I stayed here on our Alaskan “trip of a lifetime”. Our cabin loft was clean, comfortable, and quite cozy. We spoke briefly with our housekeeper (I did not get her name) and she was very friendly and informative. This is the perfect location for a visit to Denali National Park! We would recommend McKinley Creekside to anyone visiting the area!
