Beware of the 10am check out time!
Considering that most visitors will hardly be in their room, this is a good choice when visiting Denali. Humorous signs will greet you as you wind up the steep hill to reach the hotel. Once there, parking is limited but they allowed us to park in a "no parking" zone. Our room was comfortable, but the decor and carpet were old. Time for an update? The location is only about 10 minutes to Denali NP. The staff was very accommodating to a member of our party who needed to work in the lobby with WiFi. But 10 am check out?? We were still packing up at 10:15 when we received a call reminding us about the 10am check-out time so they do take this seriously.

Nice location and friendly staff
We checked in and hotel was not ready. They were short staffed and had to wait more then hour for our room. But the front desk staff was very nice. Said sorry few times and thanked us for our patience. They gave us complimentary breakfast coupon. The hotel is located on hill and has a view of river and Denali national park. It is beautiful hotel. Room were nice and cleaned. They followed the Covid protocol for cleaning as well in lobby. Shuttle buses were provided to park entrance. Restaurant is very okay. Not much vegetarian options as well non vegetarian food was okay too. Not great. Overall a very nice stay.

Nice room but disappointed with food
The room we stayed in was very comfortable. We showed up at 6am to grab breakfast and the shelves were pretty bare—they were out of fruit, yogurt, bagels. I would have picked up food at the grocery store had I known. Dinner in the dinning room was disappointing. We had a better meal the next night at the Crow’s Nest.

This is a beautiful hotel. There are lovely sitting areas inside and out to enjoy the views.
The staff was very nice.
The hotel is clean.
They provide reliable shuttle service to/from train service and luggage service. (From train, they brought luggage to my room. They also tagged and took my luggage back to the train station.)

If you are sound sensitive, beware. They cheaped out on the floors. You can hear the floorboards from above creaking, but far worse, you can hear and feel every footfall. It sounded like we were living below a T Rex . You can also hear urination, flushing toilets and running water from above. On a separate note, the service from the hotel restaurant staff was deplorable. We were ignored at the bar, which was empty, and we put our name in for a table and were never called. This place was an ugly stain on an otherwise lovely visit to Denali National Park.
