The room rate wasn't as astronomically high as many of the rates for other lodgings near Denali. Granted, the rooms are probably more basic, but who visits Denali and spends a lot of time in their hotel room. The hotel is at the edge of town quite a bit up the hillside, so walking to the stores and restaurants. is out of the question But our room had a great view of the valley. The on-site restaurant was fine for a good sit-down breakfast. There's also a small bistro where we got pastries and coffee a couple mornings before heading into the park, and the packaged lunch one day. (The lunch was good and we got a nice souvenir lunch bag.)

We stayed at the Grand Denali for 5 days in June 2019. We had some problems with the room and also the rooms HVAC. The staff was on it as soon as we told them and did everything they could to resolve our problems and improve our stay. They also took a full night's cost off the bill - which we did not expect. They gave us great customer service from the time we arrived until the day we left. We recommend them to our friends and WILL stay there again next time we go to Alaska.

Good enough

Probably not the nicest lodging in Denali, but your basic lodging in Denali. The restaurant was good. We had one problem. The toilet wouldn’t flush when we arrived, but it was promptly repaired. The window door in our room opened up onto the sidewalk/parking lot, so we had to keep the drapes closed at all times.

The staff was great, restaurant had good food and great service, but the rooms were outdated (old vinyl in bathroom with 1 dim light- very roadside motel decor. It is also so isolated and built on a site carved out of a mountain, so no grounds or outdoor areas. For the price, definitely not worth it.

What a view!

My wife and I stayed at the Grande Denali Lodge for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed it, We had a lovely room overlooking the Valley with great views of the Park and rivers running down below. It is on the shuttle bus route and getting around was no problem a t all. The lobby is magnificent and we enjoyed a drink one evening looking out over the beautiful scenery. I would certainly stay at the Grande Denali Lodge again.
