Pleasant and comfortable. Lots of things to do. Nice and clean. We enjoyed it. The food close by was lovely. I would definitely try this again. It was fun. Not the most wonderful place but it was sufficient. My husband thought the bed was too hard, but I thought it was just fine.

A (big) touch of disappointment

I visited this BNB a few years back and it was the highlight of my visit to Alaska. I reviewed this BNB as "Heaven". This was why I came here again for some R&R - I am a nurse and have worked very hard during the pandemic. I came with my daughter to enjoy Denali and relax. I gave this place three stars for the beautiful view and soft bed. The bed is great, but is against the window so you can't look outside while lying there, nor open the window. The view from the common area is lovely as well. However, right from the start I knew the place had been sold. Fresh baked goodies was replaced by nothing. A warm fire on my first arrival, now cold and unlit. My room had two, small, worn Target-looking towels to match the tacky, fibro shower I would expect to see in an RV, not a bed and breakfast. We stayed for two nights and the bed was not made up - I expected this service as BNB's have always make up the room. But worse, the audacity of leaving an envelope for a tip?? Plastic and paper now the norm here (not very good for the "wilderness"), where once pottery and stainless cutlery prevailed. No ice for a drink, no knives to cut up some cheese and signs everywhere telling me everything I couldn't do. If you are not into a very fancy, or even a mediocre breakfast, then this is the place for you. Bacon quiche was left in the fridge to microwave. What happens if you are vegetarian, vegan, Jewish or Muslim? Too bad man. That's breakfast. Oh yes, sorry, also some COSCO muffins and a small choice of two cereals. A few years back, breakfast was cooked, fresh muffins baked, bagels offered, and you could take lunch out for your adventures of the day. I think the most unfortunate aspect of this place, is the coldness. Where once welcoming and warm, is now an empty feeling. The Bates hotel appears to offer more hospitality. If warm and fuzzy is your thing, then this is not the place for you.

This B&B has a nice open lounge room with a tv, comfy couches, games, and large windows showcasing incredible scenery. It’s easy to imagine families enjoying the lounge room on vacations. The rooms are clean and quiet. The structure and layout is appealing. I would definitely stay here again.

3 Night Stay Sept 2019

We booked this place after reading great reviews, but were very disappointed. It was impersonal - check in was by a note on the door; there were "do and don't" notices everywhere; a room for 2 singles was a double bed and sofa bed (which we knew beforehand) but when the sofa bed was up the bathroom door opened about 30cms; breakfast was minimal and the same stale cinnamon buns were left out for the duration in the breakfast room; the surrounds were like a construction site - gravel, trucks and machinery. On a positive, it was very quiet and the sitting rooms were very comfortable. There was no personal welcome, no-one to give advice or suggestions for guests, and no-one there when checking out. We appreciate it was the last week of the summer season, but that's no excuse for lowering standards.

The location is perfect, 10mins from Denali bus depot, and in the wilderness but also very safe. They had the best blueberry muffins ever. Very thoughtful touches. Breakfast was good too. The B&B is beautiful with great views from the dining area. Highly recommend staying here.
