A bad hotel pretending to be good

Anvil Hotel have clearly taken the approach of painting a very average hotel in a trendy colour, charging a fortune and hoping no one notices. Limited parking was met with a nonchalant ‘just park on the street and move it by 9’, the rooms lack even the basics of coffee or bottled water and the walls are paper thin. We were charged $18 a night for ‘hotel services’ which given our bed linen wasn’t changed in 4 nights and the room wasn’t cleaned I’m unsure what services they actually represent. In short, avoid this motel with a lick of paint.

Looks MUCH better in photos...

The only rooms with A/C, are, from what I can tell, the shabbiest of all the rooms. We needed A/C, so ended up in one of these rooms. Think Motel: dirty floors(from before the "renovation"), shampoo dispenser falling off the wall, view of an alleyway. The ONE bright spot is Glorietta, the restaurant on property. Make a reservation there, and skip the motel.

No AC, no coffee maker, broken bathtub drain

Beware summer travelers: our room did not have AC!!! Only had a ceiling fan and had to open a window to the noisy street. This was not mentioned to me when booking.. we would not have booked had we known. No coffee maker in room. Really noisy - dogs barking in nearby rooms and keeping windows open made it especially noisy (but there is no AC so we had to). Two stains on the bed sheets. Had a “camp” vibe inside... very clearly an old motel that was flipped. No great parking. Bathtub drain was broken? Which was a bummer because the bathtub is beautiful. Unfriendly check-in staff who seemed grumpy and angry. Pros: beautiful bathroom, well designed touches, nice colors. Friendly staff that helped me book, close to city / restaurants. Overall: way too pricey for what you get. Prices are jacked up because of the stylish pictures online. Do not seem to care much for the actual guest experience.

Perfect location, chic decor

Our family of 4 stayed at the Anvil for a long weekend. The location is perfect- a comfortable walk to the square, the quiet of not being in the square, and a straight drive into the park. The rooms were chic and comfortable. We didn't hang out in the lobby due to Coronavirus, but it seemed like a fun spot in different circumstances. My only concern is that most rooms were accessed by awkward to navigate stairs, which was a bit of a pain with a bunch of gear. If we weren't traveling with kids, it would have been perfect.

We stayed 3 nights while skiing at Jackson Hole. Really enjoyed our stay. Never found it load as many reviews have stated. Nice attention to detail on bedding, towels, toiletries, etc. Great location. Would stay here again.
