We loved our stay at the Harborside. The location of the hotel was great as it was steps from the Bar Harbor shops and restaurants. The hotel was also right next to the land bridge from low tide. The room was spacious and beds were comfortable. All staff were very friendly. The complimentary umbrellas were a nice touch. The laundry room was so nice as well. The pool was warm and the hot tub was awesome with beautiful views. Our kids are already asking when we can go back!

This was our third time staying here, all in early June, and if it wasn’t for the long drive from Vermont we’d be here more often. We’ve had a harbor view room on each trip although this time we overlooked the pool more than the harbor and Bar Island. Our room was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful when help was needed, and the bartender (Ray-Ray) was as friendly as could be. We ordered room service breakfast on two mornings and it came right on time. We tend to be late sleepers and the hotel allows you to schedule housekeeping during specific time segments which is helpful so they know when to come back if your “do not disturb” sign is out. The hotel is right downtown and we could walk anywhere for dinner or shopping. Our evenings were always spent with a glass of wine by the lobby fireplace, relaxing to say the least. My only issue is the “resort fee” since we use little if any of the so-called services it covers. This isn’t a problem unique to this hotel and I think most people would be happier if they just put it in the base price. (You pay the same either way.) Anyway, if we come back to Bar Harbor again this will be where we stay.

We stayed at the Harborside for our honeymoon and could not have been happier. The location was excellent we were able to bike into Acadia National Park and had easy access to shops and restaurants. The property was beautiful, and the service was exceptional. We ate at the restaurant twice and loved it both times. The pool is heated which was a nice bonus and having access to two different hot tubs and pools gave guests lots of options so it never felt crowded. We also loved walking across the sand bar at low tide and enjoying the sunset. We will be back for sure!

The location of the Harborside can't be beat- you are literally right in downtown Bar Harbor so can walk to everything and obviously a short drive to Acadia. I think that's really why you stay here. The price I think is reasonable to a little high for what you get and the location, however, there are several issues with this hotel. 1) The description on the website is not great and it's hard to figure out what you are actually getting. Although we had a small kitchen, there is not kitchen table so not really serviceable to actually eat anything in the room. We had a king bed and then a fold out couch which was VERY uncomfortable. 2) Several things in the room were broken- the window, the shower, the sink. The bath was dirty from the previous occupant. 3) They advertise that they have "in room dining" which was really just pizza delivery from the restaurant. Ok technically we were dining in the room but it's not in room dining like you would think. The pizza was decent. 4) The service is just ok. I didn't find the staff particularly friendly. We stayed at another place for the second half of the trip and the difference in staff friendliness was pretty remarkable.

Nice hotel with a nice location. Tour boats are part of the experience I suppose.

Nice hotel with a really great location. They partner with the Whale Watching Company, so do not pay for the views unless you like big tour boats in your foreground. Still a decent view though, you cant go wrong in Bar Harbor. Ate at the restaurant once and it was nice. This is also really close to the land bridge that appears when the tide is out.
