We had a wonderful time! Walker met us as soon as we arrived and was so kind and helpful. He does a wonderful job showing true hospitality to everyone. The breakfast was so amazing! The afternoon tea and treats were a nice touch that we enjoyed too.

Beautiful pristine unique rooms and property. Historic buildings and full of charm. Personalized touches and top notch service by the staff everywhere you turn. You truly feel special staying here. Comfortable beds/pillows and very quiet and peaceful at night. I hate staying at hotels and hearing doors slammed all night long, you definitely won't find that here! Conveniently located to downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia. You can easily walk to bars, restaurants and shopping. The personal touches and thoughtfulness each day by Walker are incredible. Also very reasonably priced. My new travel style is definitely going to be B&Bs.

The hospitality was off the chart. Walker was very welcoming and had great advice on where and what to do in the area. The breakfast was delicious, and they offered Tea time with snacks in the afternoon. The room very very nice and clean. I would come back here again. 10/10

Loved this place, beautiful and peaceful plus the staff were super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good too. There’s a ton of cool stuff to do in the area, I’d never been to Bar Harbor before but I would go back. Thanks Bass Cottage staff!

Bass Cottage was a delight to stay in during my vacation to the wonderful Bar Harbor, ME. Not only was the town of Bar Harbor a delight to explore through the recommendations of the charming innkeeper, Walker, but Bass Cottage offered a home away from home. Offered every day were tea time treats, small delicacies that were just great! Make sure to be on the lookout for those s'mores tarts. Included in the stay was also a savory or sweet breakfast every day. My kids (surprisingly) loved the baked oatmeal and Nantucket pie. On days that my picky eaters weren't open to the options, Bass staff did a wonderful job accomodating with fruit and other substitutes for a healthy, yummy breakfast. We were able to explore most of Mount Desert Island on foot fed and energized. The Fourth of July celebration in the town was tons of fun and really family friendly! At the end of the day we were definitely looking forward to coming back to Bass and laying down in our beds. And, the outstanding firework show was visible from Bass property! Not only were we able to enjoy the Fourth of July finale with the hundreds of people visiting town that night, but we were able to do so from the comfort of the lawn chairs right outside our rooms. The rooms too were guh - so great. Very well kept, beautiful and clean. I think we stayed in the room called mint. I'd say we should keep Bass a secret because of how wonderful it is, but really, more people should get the chance to stay and experience such an accomodating, relaxing vacation. Can't wait to come back up for another family vacay!
