We stayed here as part of our northern lights tour. They shut off all the water in the hotel for 4 hours while they had guests. Loud construction going on in rooms right above yours. Often there was only 1 elevator functioning, & you could end up waiting 10 minutes for that. They lock up breakfast at 9 weekdays, 9:30 weekends, so if you are sleeping later because you were out the night before looking at the northern lights, you are out of luck for breakfast. I would not recommend this hotel even if it wasn't under construction as they are not friendly to those guests on northern lights tours.

Nice location in downtown Fairbanks! We were booked there as part of a tour, but are Bonvoy Members! Rooms are small, but efficient! Had coffee pot, mini fridge, and microwave! Renovation was in progress, but was not a problem! Desk staff was very friendly and helpful! Breakfast service was chaotic…..maybe longer hours! If one has stayed out until 3 am chasing the northern lights, you will not be up at 6:30 or 9 for breakfast! Maybe a grab and go type thing for early and late! Have had that at other Marriott properties! One of the real assets is Lavelle’Bistro on site. It is a great place for dinner, but not mentioned in the hotel info I saw! Great for those without a vehicle!

We stayed 2 nights before and after a organized tour. Beds were comfortable. Beautiful view of the Catholic church and the frozen Chena River. Ask for a room that faces that direction. Easy walking to restaurants and shopping. Very good hot breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel undergoing a complete remodel now till the end of April 2024.

Springhill Suites Fairbanks has started a complete renovation of its hotel. Started on the top sixth floor and will go to the end of April 2024. Besides the noise there is only one of the two elevators available to guests. Does not seem to be mentioned when you book a room. Had to call to confirm the hotel's undergoing this construction.

perfect location but needs the renovations that are now in progress

This Springhill Suites is probably the most worn of the many we've stayed in. It is in the process of renovations so should be better in the future. The downtown location is about as good as it gets so putting up with the sparse nearly not furnished kitchen was still worth it. The staff is super friendly and helpful especially when you come back at 3 or 4 in the morning after chasing Northern Lights all night.
