Great location within the Village. You can walk anywhere. We came in early May, not knowing that the Village was still closed to an extent. We enjoyed how quiet it was because there were very few people. Every thing starts opening on the May long weekend. The room was spacious, clean with a comfy bed and awesome tub with great pressure. They had a small coffee maker, microwave and bar fridge. There was only one very expensive restaurant available for all meals. There is a subway and small store. Next time I will plan to bring more meals from home to keep the cost down and to enjoy more picnics. There is no diesel in the village so come prepared.

My sister and I arrived after 9pm on September 30th excited to find time to get in on the last ferry weekend to Crypt Lake, it was a bucket list hike. I flew in to Calgary late from the US and she finished work late and picked me up from the airport. We had no idea it would be a problem getting a room and almost panicked when I called the number to the dark office but lit up attached suite at this hotel. The not so welcome female voice told me they were not renting rooms after nine (really?) and when I asked if anyone else in town did, she said no it all shuts down. I then said everyone? what do you suggest we do? She grumpily said call ahead next time and hung up. A little concerned we were like seriously it's not even that late and we were booking 2 nights, its money in their pocket. We decided to drive back the way we came and I saw the lights on with just a screen door open to Bear Mountain Hotel, I nervously asked so no one in town rents out after 9 is what I was told? He said they lied. Thankfully we booked and slept well on the best mattress and older but very clean rooms at Bear Mountain Hotel. Awesome friendly staff that lent us the bear spray we were going to rent at the ferry.

I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the room with two queen beds. The location was convenient for walking around the downtown area and along Waterton Lake to Cameron Falls. There is ample free parking and the wi-fi was fast for a motel. We will stay here again when visiting the park.

I will never stay here again and will warn anyone I know who’s travelling to Waterton to steer clear. It’s highway robbery what they charge for a room. The rooms are outdated and very much need to be renovated. There’s no A/C and the floor fan in the room is broken and has to be balanced carefully to keep it from falling. It’s absolutely sweltering and hard to sleep because of it. I’m allergic to feather pillows so I went down to the office and was told they were out of non-feather pillows. Thankfully some were located, but they were either lumpy or flat. The screen in the window doesn’t fit and falls out as soon as the window is opened. The TV says there’s no signal for channels. The only redeeming quality is the location. I feel totally ripped off.

Would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone

One bed was uneven and tipped while sitting on edge. TV only had 3 channels and turned off the signal during evening and early morning. Floor uneven. Like building is sagging . No where to put luggage. No AC. Luckily it cooled down in the evening and they provided the noisiest fan ever.
