Someone stole my Nikon camera at the reception and there were no cameras to ckeck.Wanna stay at that place???
Incredible but it's true!! I forgot my huge Nikon D800S at the reception desk for some seconds and when I came back what was the big surprise? Someone stole it, which was not to be expected in such a famous and expensive hotel in the flawless Canada, and besides THERE WERE NO CAMERAS AT THE HOTEL!!! Believe it.
So they said there was nothing they could do and I left that unpleasant situation with an apology and a $ 5,000 loss. Someone want to have such an experience like that???

Paying for convenience
Plus - Great location, nice scenery, comfortable room. Having a cabin up from the lake was a plus.
Minus - Breakfast first morning of stay was cold, as was the breakfast room. Being end of season, room was not always restocked with amenities that were supposedly guaranteed. Given cost of room, expected a little more. We requested a box lunch one afternoon, we got charged after being told it was going to be complimentary.
You basically pay for the convenience of being close to hiking trails and not having to deal with the limited parking,

One of the most beautiful and special places we’ve ever stayed!
My boyfriend and I came to the lodge in August for a quiet getaway. The Moraine Lake lodge is one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever been. The room was so cozy and lovely, with fresh wood for a fire every night. The hikes from the lodge were awesome, highly recommend the hike to Sentinel Pass and Consolation Lake. Staying right on the lake was so special, it was also super nice to not have to worry about parking or getting there to beat the crowds every morning to watch the sunrise and set. Also loved the kayaking! The staff was lovely and the food was great. It was so romantic and beautiful getting to wake up right on the lake every day. We would definitely come back.

Moraine Lake Lodge - Banff Alberta
Rented a Cabin, yes it is not inexpensive but you get what you pay for. Beautiful, rustic cabin, well equipped and very clean, premium bedding and bathroom amenities. Great view of the beautiful Moraine Lake with private deck. Staff was amazing and very helpful, nice breakfast included and on-site restaurant was excellent. Considering that this is one of the most beautiful places in earth, would highly recommend as a “bucket-list” stay. Canoe rental also included and also a must-do!

Our favorite mountain destination!
We have now visited Moraine Lake & Lake Louise twice, having stayed at Moraine Lake Lodge back in September 2015. We enjoyed our experience and highly recommend Moraine Lake Lodge due to its location to Moraine Lake. It was nice to be able to enjoy sunrise and sunset at this lodge once the tourists left and it felt like such a great little mountain hideaway. Banff National Park is one of our top travel destinations and I think we will be back soon!
