we really enjoyed our stay. Even with the staff shortage we found everyone to be patient and helpful. we loved the location great for a branching off point for hikes in the area. We stayed in off season and yet the lodge was still full. I do wish the firewood was dryer we had a hard time keeping the fire going.

Stayed at Emerald Lake Lodge from October 20-22, 2021. Arrived late at night around 11, very dark so wasn’t able to full appreciate the location h til morning!! Had a bit of difficulty finding the off site parking as we were too excited and passed the lot! Once we got that sorted out we were brought to the main lodge by shuttle, check in was easy and we were directed to our lodge where we brought our own luggage. Our building did smell “cottagey.” If you know you know. Once in our room the smell was gone, our room was ++++++hot, we ended up sleeping with our patio door open and no blankets in 5 degree weather. The room was smaller and more dated than expected but when we woke up and walked out on our patio….WOW. We had partial lake and partial mountain views. Absolutely incredible. We went to the main restaurant for breakfast (this is the only thing nearby), expensive but worth it. The granola yogurt and the sweet potato dish were amazing!! Beautiful views from the restaurant. We then did a 5 hour hike to Yoho Pass, right at the hotel. Gorgeous! They also have a leisurely walk around the lake, walk not hike, path is maintained etc, roughly 2 hours. Amazing views everywhere. We had dinner at the restaurant again that night, food was 10/10, can’t express how delicious this was! The elk dinner and beef tenderloin were both amazing, I don’t know what I would pick if I went back. Be aware that meals are expensive but AMAZING. the Old Fashioned they offered was $16.50 but delicious and served on a wood platter under a glass dome of smoke. Incredible. They also had a fire pit burning outdoors by the restaurant that we utilized and loved. Things to be mindful of: no reception, only wifi in main building, requires shuttle to parking, lots of steps and uneven ground, rooms are dated but the views make this lodge 10/10. Definitely would go back!

We were here on our honeymoon and we were very disappointed. The only thing that was great was the location. The service was terrible. We were accommodated for 9 nights and no one bothered to come clean up. We had to go to ourselves to talk about clean towels, etc. And after 6 days we were asked if they could come to clean our room. In addition, the rooms lack a small refrigerator. It's a standard everywhere, so I was surprised that it's not here. The carpet and chair were dirty on arrival, which didn't feel good. I definitely do not recommend the hotel for a long time. For 1 day to the will of the site yes, but otherwise not!
