This resort is in dire need of updating and repair. The room we stayed in had old stains on the furniture, a toilet that wasn't affixed to the floor properly, and a bathroom ceiling fan was falling out of ceiling. The in room fireplace was a plus, but there were no tools to maintain the fire (we used a stick and got splinters). The location is amazing. And the staff were really accommodating. But for the money they charge, it's not worth it.

It was breathtaking beautiful at Emerald Lake Lodge. Eloped for a winter wedding and the lodge looked after everything for us. The service & the food in the dinning room was exceptional. Front desk people were very accommodating and very knowledge with the trails. There is snowshoes and cross country skies available to use to explore the trails. We will be going back for a anniversary.

Picturesque hotel but it is the x-country ski trails that are amazing

We had so much fun using the x-country ski trail that are maintained by the Kicking Horse x-country ski club. It is a beautiful location with trails for all different abilities. Please donate to this group if you use the trails. We did and will again when we return to use them. The hotel is beautiful. We had a standard room and although the wood burning fire place was nice, the rest of the room was just a room. Food options are limited and pricey but diner was very nice as treat.

My wife and I had a three night stay at the Lodge at the end of February. We chose the Lodge for its relatively close location close to Calgary within the National Park system. The turnoff off of the Trans-Canada Highway has signage to warn that its coming up, but there's no off-ramp, just a turn onto the access road. Overnight parking for the Lodge is a few hundred metres down from the day use parking, with a shuttle frequently coming down to the parking lot to take guests up to the lodge. The Lodge and cabins are on a "finger" of land extending into the lake, accessible across a narrow bridge. The main Lodge is quite rustic and open. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay, bringing down firewood and kindling along with small items for the kitchen to our cabin. We opted to avoid the hot tub due to the ongoing pandemic and the distancing restrictions in place. We stayed in the Point Cabin with lots of room to stretch out, and an amazing view of the whole lake from the wraparound deck and expansive windows in the living room. My wife practiced her pryomania skills and kept a roaring fire going throughout our stay. There were obvious upgrades to the cabin, as the ensuite was modern and up to date, but the interior of the cabin itself was showing some age, with a fair number of scratches and dents and little things that could use some upkeep. I was a bit surprised at this, considering the nightly room rate we were paying. There was no wifi or television access in the cabins, wifi was only available in the main Lodge. This made for a very peaceful and unplugged holiday away. Lots of outdoor stuff to do that we took advantage of - snowshoeing, hiking, cross-country skiing. We will definitely consider doing this again next winter!
