If its your first time here, park in overnight parking so you dont waste time wandering around looking for check in. We spent over 600$ for 1 night stay, so we expected good service and a nice room. Rooms are super old and smelled like my grandma, we loved not having TV's or Wifi, but there are no fridges in the room and the furniture is uncomfortable. Bring bottled water, because there isn't any. We waited so so long for drinks and our food. The waiter was really nice but they were obviously understaffed for a large amount of visitors. Food was good, staff was nice and friendly, views are gorgeous but we left feeling disappointed.

Beautiful Views, Rustic, Great Restaurant

Emerald Lake The view is the highlight of staying here and we enjoyed canoeing on the lake. There are lots of tourists who are not staying on the property which choke it with pedestrian traffic throughout the day. The shuttle service was very reliable and friendly and they would pick you up along the main path with your luggage so you don't have to lug it far. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The coffee pot if you can call it that could use a serious upgrade; it only made a watery, almost hot, barely-coffee substance with the provided packets and isn't equipped for making your own. Even less expensive cabins usually have a better coffee pot. The bathroom could really use an update, the rest was rustic and cute. There are great bath products here-- l'occitane, which was an odd contrast to the bathtub. The water was nice and hot and the shower was fine but the tub just didn't look nice enough to soak in a bath. I loved the wood burning fireplace at night and having a balcony to sit on. Having some better adjustable chairs on the balcony would be a good idea. I would recommend staying away from the main lodge. It was very noisy with all the tourists bussed in to take photos not considering people are staying on the property. There's a place near the lodge right of the beginning of the path where tourists come to jump in the cold water and scream pretty endlessly thought the day and early evening. It was annoying even for the brief periods we were back in the room after being gone all day. The path around the lake is half wetlands but nothing too swampy and the first half is paved but get there before buses as it gets pretty packed after 9 in the mornings but is nice and empty early. All of the staff there were very young and also very friendly. The service in the restaurants was good. The restaurant menus didn't really change each day but overall the food was pretty good. The homemade bread is excellent, I liked the minestrone, the elk burger was cooked to hell although ordered medium, the duck confit was odd and more of a congealed rice versus a risotto with confit of duck, but the halibut with saffron risotto my favorite meal of the entire trip in Yoho, Jasper, and Banff areas.

A Hide Away Lodge stay

A real hideaway lodge stay with no wifi and tv facilities. The room had a coffee maker but we were told we had to collect the coffee pods from reception. The weather was hot and although we had a fan on, we still have to open the patio door. However, the night air had a smell of cedar burnt ? We did not have a good sleep. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent though. We were impressed with the menu - foods. Due to Covid, the seating area was full but F&B Banquet Manager, Durrant Williams took us to what looks like the banquet room. We had the whole area to ourselves. A big thanks to his friendly and efficient service. We enjoyed this.

Big Disappointment! Beautiful place that has gone downhill since the 1980's. Poor response by staff in dealing with unruly fighting and yelling couple in the room above us. When one is paying $400 a night, one would expect to be moved to another unit( after having to get staff involvement TWICE!) Being told that they ( the staff) are" sorry" as a response is not good enough! This incident ruined our stay ! Will think twice about going back there!
