Great location and staff but disappointing rooms

The location is fantastic and the staff are very helpful. The king room was advertised (over the phone) as newly renovated compared to their queen rooms so I went ahead and booked it for our anniversary trip. Being “newly renovated” is a total lie. The paint was peeling inside and on the balcony, the screen door didn’t close properly On the balcony so bugs could get in the room, the carpet was old and had stains, and the box spring leather was peeling. There’s also no AC or mini fridge which makes for hot nights in the summer. Having new paneling behind the bed and new tile/sink surround in the bathroom does not count as being renovated enough to be advertised as such. Next time, I’ll pay the extra money to stay at Fairmont.

The location is fantastic. It’s minutes from Lake Louise and it beats trying to find parking or hiking up from the other parking lots. Our first room had missing grout, and was incredibly small. We didn’t realize there wasn’t a TV in the rooms or AC when booking. Not that we travelled for a TV but it would’ve been nice after a day of hiking to sit down and flip on a show. The walls are paper thin and we were initially placed by an exit door, which people began slamming around 4 am. When we asked the desk about it, they indicated the door shouldn’t be in use, although it was and continued to be. Our second room was a tad bigger. The sink had issues. Both showers needed improvement. The showers fluctuate between freezing cold to scolding hot without warning - not relaxing or helpful. We found ourselves washing as quick as possible and having to turn the shower head to the wall several times.

Terrible service! Don’t stay here

My husband and I stayed here July 28-29, 2020. The room was small but sufficient for our needs and we were happy with it until another guest unlocked our door and attempted to enter while my husband and I were in there sleeping!!! When we went to the front desk to ask about it, we found out the room numbers were mis-recorded and the staff made out it was somehow our fault. We were appalled that they never apologized or made any attempt to recompense us for the inconvenience and embarrassment. The cherry on the cake was when our card was charged $70 more for the room than expected. We are going to call to investigate but I warn you all NOT to stay here if you can avoid it!! They have no idea what customer service looks like. I gave them one star because the food at their restaurant is fabulous! Stop and eat but I don’t recommend staying.

Location is fantastic and lodge has an old, rustic feel which we loved. The rooms need some TLC as they were a little rundown. We couldn’t figure out the AC and the water temperature kept changing from warm to very hot without warning during our showers. A few tiles in the shower were loose and the look wasn’t appearing but overall good stay
