We had a great time at the Buffalo Mountain Lodge, the room was clean and tidy upon arrival. The Bathroom was great, the clawfoot tub was a nice touch and we didn't expect the heated floors, that was awesome. The Fireplace was great and the wood was easy to access so we could keep the fire going all night. The Hot Tub area was fantastic, the change room was clean, you just can't beat those views. We did have a few minor issues, the pillows kind of suck, they are way to soft. You have no support, once you lay down on them, they flatten out and it feels like you're on the mattress, if you want a firm pillow, bring your own. The temperature for the hot tub could be warmer, it was only set to 92F, still a bit chilly when its minus 16C outside. All and all we had a lovely experience and I am sure that we will be back in the near future. Regards, David J

Outstanding stay at Buffalo Mountain Lodge. Beautiful accommodations with wood-burning fireplace. The best part of our stay of 7 days was the staff. They were great. A special shout-out to a few of them: Antonio, Katie, Chad, Ciera, Brandon and many more. They could not have been more gracious and helpful. We hope to come back again next year for our third stay at Buffalo Mountain Lodge. We would rate it a 6 if we could!

Wonderful mountain lodge with rather friendly stuff and high quality food and drinks, good location to reach Banff downtown as well as the ski resorts of Sunshine or Lake Louise. Beds could need an upgrade

Staff were both friendly and helpful. The room was amazing, the beautiful vaulted ceiling, heated flooring to the large walk in shower. Having a real wood fireplace made all the difference especially since it was -20 during our stay.

We arrived at the lodge after midnight. This was a weekend trip from Florida to attend our friend's son's wedding, and we'd booked everything 8 months in advance. As we came up the Lodge road we were both in a terrible mood. We'd been bumped from our Westjet flight 20 hours earlier, in spite of having boarding passes in hand, arriving 3 hours early, and the flight leaving as scheduled (just without us). No explanations were offered and the new routing they stuck us with put us in Calgary six hours later than planned. The scenic daylight drive into the mountains turned into driving in pitch black. We missed the dinner and drinks we'd planned with our friends. Coming up the Lodge road we stopped as a herd of Elk crossed in front of us. The last one paused for 30 or 40 seconds, broadside in our headlights, as if offering us a photo op. It was one of those magical moments, and our spirits rose a bit. We drove the few hundred more yards to the Lodge and were welcomed immediately at the front desk, even though it was so late at night. The check in was very quick and all of the ammenities and their locations were explained. An armful of kindling was provided for the fireplace in our room. We were much too tired to do anything but flop into our bed, but I had a roaring fire going for us first thing next morning. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. We went to breakfast with our group a little later and the food and coffee at the Prow was excellent. The wedding venue was spectacular. It was an outdoor ceremony, with snow swirling and mountains as the backdrop. It was one of those times you realize how great and fortunate it is to be Canadian. It was also a bit chilly, and since there was time before the reception a visit to the outdoor hot tub became a sublime experience. When the jets kicked in a column of vapour shot 20 feet in the air. The Lodge's location is perfect for touring the area. We managed to squeeze in visits to downtown Banff, and to Lake Louise, with lunch at The Station Restaurant, housed naturally enough in a 115 year old, log, former railway station. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay at the Buffalo Mountain Lodge. The staff were awesome. Everything really was perfect.
