The new owners made our trip so hospitable! They went above and beyond in so many ways that we really appreciate. They plan to continue to make upgrades to the facilities and we can't wait to stay there again. Cabins were clean and located in a perfect meadow for viewing wildlife. The dinner and breakfast served at the restaurant were all great and service was amazing.

Absolutely Terrible Place to Stay

The Kaibab Lodge looks nothing like the photos on their website. It is false advertisement if you ask me. I stayed there two nights in two different cabins, both were old and run down. The heater in the second cabin was not even hooked up and it was below freezing at night. The blinds in both rooms were torn too. The place has no wifi, not even in the check in area. Of course, there are limited option in the North Rim, the lodge inside the park is booked full as soon as it opens up for booking. Jacob Lake is over 20 miles north making them the only lodging alternative near North Rim and they took maximum advantage of their customers.

I stayed @ the lodge while I was visiting the North Rim, Grand Canyon. The lodge was clean but rustic. My room was in a 2 story building with 4 units. The first night a snowstorm blew through and the building shook as the wind howled outside. The windows rattled also. The furnace was very loud and made a knocking/ ticking noise for 45 minutes every 2 hours. It woke me up numerous times. Management did plow the roads by 11 am, but never shoveled the sidewalk. It was a sheet of ice for 4 days. The neighbors slammed their door and went up and down the stairs multiple times @ 4 am. They must have wanted an early start! Management was friendly but the buildings need some insulation and sound proofing.

Very Disappointing

Weather forced a change of plans (snow!) so we booked a night. Cabin was very cold; there wasn't a single utensil, plate/cup, or dish towel; the coffeemaker didn't work; and we had a visitor during the night who ate part of a banana, leaving droppings all over the counter and sink. The cabin was very overpriced for what it offered, but we were glad we didn't have to set up camp with a tent and sleeping bags in the snow. We were grateful for that, but again, this cabin was seriously overpriced, no matter the weather.

Not only is this a run-down, dump, the staff has attitude thats sky-high. I regret staying here - the cabins are small, filthy and to say that they're poorly maintained is being extremely generous. Steer clear.
