If you enjoy the rich history and romance of the Old West, you too will be enchanted by this place! Each room is named after a well-known Western author and decorated accordingly. We stayed in the Louis L’Amour room next to the Mark Twain room and the Walt Whitman room. I did not see the interior of the other rooms, but ours was totally charming. In addition, it was very well and practically appointed. We had a dorm refrigerator, real glass wine and drinking glasses, not plastic or paper, flat screen TV (with direct TV), DVD player and electric fireplace (which we did not need as it was never colder than 50). Plenty of pillows, two rocking chairs and a small high top table with two bar stools. The bathroom was clean, bright and looked as if it had just been re-done. The tile around the tub was immaculate. No dirty, chipped grout and rusting around the drains and faucets like you often see in the chain hotels. Everything was very comfortable. The house has two very large front rooms on either side of the main entry. One is a library with a huge collection of books, magazines and DVDs and a small gift shop. The other side is a dining area with a refrigerator for guests to store medical supplies and leftovers that won’t fit in your dorm fridge in the room. No meals were provided but we were given a daily voucher for breakfast at our choice of two restaurants, each of which was a short walk from the property. We only ended up eating at one during our 3 day stay because we ate there the first morning and fell in love with it. (See my related review of Oscar’s, in Springdale, UT). The property has a large parking lot with wide spaces right outside the front door. The house has a lovely veranda and back yard, each of which has seating. There were no vacancies while we stayed there, but we never saw another guest or any of the staff and if we had not seen the other cars in the parking lot or seen that our room had been cleaned, we would have thought that we had the place to ourselves. The owner lives in an adjacent property and was very friendly and personable and let us know that he was always available if we needed anything. And to top it all off, we walked out one afternoon to go to dinner and two deer were feeding in the shrubbery off the parking lot only about 50 feet away! Beautiful! The property is just off of Zion Boulevard and within easy walking distance of dozens of good restaurants, coffee shops and gift shops. It is about 1 mile from the entrance of Zion National Park. We chose to drive to the park, but it is easily walkable if you are able-bodied. We initially thought the rate was quite reasonable, but after seeing and experiencing all that we got for our money, this was an fabulous bargain.

We stayed here for a whole week in July 2020, our second visit after a six-year gap. It was great! The room was nice and clean, and with the owners' precautions we had no concerns about health. They had good suggestions about things to do, and where to eat. Each morning we had a choice of 2 places very nearby, to go for the included breakfast. There's also an on-site room with morning coffee, and a fridge to store your own perishables. Our friends took another room in the inn at the same time, and they enjoyed it too. Looking forward to our next visit.

Comfortable and very accommodating owner. Great breakfast vouchers. Off the main drag so it’s quiet with good parking. Cookies at night! We liked the Bronte room which had a fireplace and a king bed. If you like BnB accommodations, you’ll like Novel House.

We’ve been to Zion twice and both times we have stayed here. It’s comfortable, quiet and the owners are friendly and polite. There’s a comfortable sitting area were there is tea and most of the time cookies waiting for the cookie monster. We recommend.

The Novel House is right off the main road on a quiet street. We parked our car and then walked to the main street where we caught the shuttle to locations downtown or Zion National Park. Our car was in a private, safe location and we didn't have to deal with any traffic. The house was very quiet and the owner was so kind and attentive. This was a welcome change from staying in hotels. We felt that the voucher to have breakfast at Oscar's was an awesome perk. The owner went out of his way to provide an excellent experience.
