Glad We Stayed Here - Terrific Property

We stayed with teens during spring break. This is a very well maintained, newer property in a beautiful setting. The suites are large (exceptionally clean), and the trundle bed is functional - and comfortable to sleep on. Wifi and breakfast were both what you’d expect from a Marriott. Afternoon front desk ladies are especially help and offer very practical advice on navigating the park and finding restaurants to meet your needs - great job, ladies. We contemplated staying in the park, and staying here was definitely the better call after researching trip advisor reviews. The park has the shuttle bus situation sorted out, and we found the wait times were not unreasonable, even traveling as a family. THANK YOU for a terrific stay.

We stayed at the Marriott with a big group of friends over Spring Break. Our friends had stayed here before and highly recommended the hotel. As a family of 4, we like to choose rooms that have the most square footage so that we don’t feel so claustrophobic. So we chose the large suite and were so glad we did! Amazing views, we had a large patio that overlooked the mountains and a huge living room & kitchen space. The breakfast buffet had lots of great food options and we have no complaints. Both of my children have food allergies and they had plenty of options for them. We love the location of the hotel because is made it so easy and convenient to hop on the trolly/bus into Zion for hiking. Lots of restaurant options to walk to, so no need to drive your car to anything while you’re here. I’d choose this hotel again and recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Zion. My only complaint is that you can hear every movement from the people staying above you. At one point I had to call the front desk to ask them to call the people above us because side it sounded like they were running a race. Constant running and stomping that made it impossible to sleep until they went to bed. Either the floors need far more sound proofing, or this family was extremely inconsiderate that anyone else was below them. This is the only complaint I have - everything else about this hotel is wonderful.

Stay for the location and views

The location of the spring hill suites could not be better for visiting Zion National Park. It’s right in the middle of the cute little town leading up to Zion and there is a park shuttle stop right in front of the hotel. We had a long room and an expanded queen suite. The queen room was huge. It had a living area with a balcony. The balcony looked right out into the mountains and a stream. Then it had a little kitchen area, plus the bedroom. There was decent lighting in the rooms and there was a full length mirror. Our king room had awful lighting and no mirror outside of the very small bathroom. There also was no balcony for the king room, even though it was right next to the queen room. The rooms were decently clean and looked fairly updated. The bathrooms had awful barn doors. I do not understand why Mariott continues to put barn doors in the bathrooms of all their hotels. First of all, they never fully close and second of all, they offer so much less privacy than a normal door. In the room here, the bathroom was literally at the foot of the bed and if someone was sleeping, they were automatically woken up if someone wanted to use the bathroom. The breakfast area was mobbed, messy and unappealing. When we went down, all the trays of food were empty and people were milling about waiting for more food. Once they replaced the food, it was like watching vultures go on for the kill. There was not nearly enough seating for all the people at the breakfast and the tables were left dirty. We did not go back to the hotel breakfast after the first day. The hotel had a sign up saying if you wanted housekeeping more than every 2 days, you had to request it. So we did and were given strange looks by the people at the front desk. They did come in and leave us new towels, but they didn’t clean or even properly make the beds. They pulled the comforter halfway up, in the same sad way my kids do when they make their beds. The rooms and halls are also not very soundproof. You can hear people talking in the halls and every time someone above us moved, it sounded as though they would be crashing through the ceiling. It did wake us up multiple times. This hotel is good if you are looking for an easy place to stay for visiting Zion but don’t expect to be blown away.

It’s ok, but not great

I’ve stayed at this hotel every year since it opened. It used to be great and I looked forward to visiting each year. It’s apparent this year that the hotel is starting to show its age, furniture is worn, common areas and rooms are not as clean as they used to be, and the service is not what it used to be and what typically expect from a Marriott property.

5 STARS services and accommodations in Springdale! Rooms are reasonably priced. Guest laundry and complimentary breakfast. Staff are friendly and professional especially Ondra. Beautiful vaulted lobby overlooking a majestic mountain view. Nice outdoor fire pit (gas) perfect during winter months. Rooms are spacious and clean with comfortable beds and strong shower head! Highly recommended!!!
