We enjoyed our stay here. The surroundings are amazing to just sit and watch the sun rise or fall behind the rock formations. The cabins are well set out and kept us nice and warm on a chilly night. The fire pit gets lit each night so you can sit around and meet your neighbors while enjoying an amazing view of the rock formations. Location wise its a bit out of town but that is great for some peace and quite not that you would find to much other than peace and quite in Torrey. We would certainly stay here again.

It’s a great resort, but...
We stayed in a double queen cabin and it was absolutely beautiful. The views were spectacular. Restaurant and staff were always friendly and check in was a breeze. Unfortunately, when we left, I left behind my daughter’s kindle. We were already an hour away, so I called and asked for them to search the room. They asked for me to call back in a couple of hours. No problem. During the mean time, I turned on location services and sure enough, the kindle was in the cabin on the resort grounds. I gave it some time and called back, “No one could find anything.” I check location again and suddenly the kindle is turned off. I didn’t bother arguing with the front desk, but to see the proof was so disappointing. This wasn’t your standard blame game with hotel staff, there was tracking on the device. We loved Capitol Reef Resort and planned on making it a destination for years to come. It’s a shame, but that will no longer be the case.

Closest to Capitol Reef
We stayed here one night while visiting Capitol Reef National Park in December. This was off season, so there were few guests and most restaurants in the area were closed. We chose a room overlooking the back of the property facing the mountains. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and kind. It’s a great place to stay with kids during the peak season with lots of things to do.

Nice cabin with ample facilities
We got a Very cosy 2 room cabin with great view and ample facilities . The wooden cabin was clean and well maintained, but due to low season the breakfast was the bare minimum but the WIFI was excellent, fast speed and able to download data quickly.

Sweet little cabin with a nice view
We (family of four) loved our cabin looking out at the red rock walls in the distance. The cabin was very nicely furnished (like "modern western") and cozy. We had a great dinner at their restaurant -- the chicken enchiladas and the steak with mushrooms were particularly good. This place looks kind of like a large, run-of-the-mill motel from the highway, but if you get the cabin, the experience is nothing like a motel. It was very cold when we visited so we did not experience the pool, hot tub, fire pits, or covered wagons, but the latter two looked like they would be quite fun. Capitol Reef is an incredible park and well worth a visit (Hickman Bridge hike is amazing)!
