Basic and Overpriced

We stayed here for two nights in October as a splurge for a birthday. I don't remember spending $244/night for another room in my life--not in Paris, London, Rome, Vegas or New York. But the pictures on the website showed sophisticated accommodations. The reality was far different. Our "patio" was simply part of the concrete walkway that led from one end of the building to the other. The room was a basic motel room. Two queen beds, dark, smelly, and with a tiny bathroom with a basic acrylic tub like you would find in a Motel 6. We couldn't believe it. We immediately called the front desk and was told that "all their rooms were called Superior rooms" and that there was nothing they could do. They offered us a $20 credit at their restaurant. $20 didn't even cover breakfast. The room had the conventional wall heater that went on and off throughout the night and, because it was so loud, woke us every time. But we were lucky to have gotten to sleep at all because the walls and ceiling are--like the most basic motel--very thin. Not only did we hear every footstep and conversation, we also heard something like a loud drill every time someone used the sink above us. There was also a loud knock that got slower over time, again from water use next door. One of the handles on a piece of furniture was missing. The room was so terribly overpriced, it really impacted us emotionally during what was a important time away. This property was a terrible disappointment.

Beautiful room, lovely shower, fantastic view of the canyons! The front desk was very helpful; the restaurant was efficient and offered delicious selections, and the Llama Hike was AMAZING!!! We loved every minute here! It would have been a wonderful to stay here several days!

We stayed at the resort for three nights and enjoyed our visit. Room was midrange and showed some signs of age with a beautiful view of the red rocks from the balcony but a difficult to open sliding glass door. On site restaurant, The Pioneer Kitchen offered excellent fare. We would consider staying here in the future.

We stayed in a King room, with a view. It was a fabulous cabin. Other options are teepees, covered wagons and lodge rooms. They are very strict about the 4 pm check in, understandable given that most guests are just there for one night. They are happy to hold your luggage in the back rom while you explore. Our “room” was wonderful. It was more like a suite. There is a great little restaurant attached whose looks are not representative of the quality of food and service. Speaking of service - big shoutout to Sarah, truly a one woman show. We were unprepared for a snow event and she guided us, with real time info, as to how best to approach travels to our next destination. And she did so much more. Thank you, Sarah. Then there was Tanya, Kathie and Lluvia in the dining room. Then there was Angel who was truly masterful as she so efficiently managed the breakfast crowd. Thank you, Angel.

This Place is Tremendous! 813687732 From the moment you drive up to this place, you can feel the Spirits. This place has great beds, a super fantastic view and the cabins are set up wonderfully. The cabins face the Red Cliffs and give you the feeling of the Old West. There are also Covered Wagons to sleep in, Tee Pee's to sleep in and a lodge to stay in. This place is one the the Best stay's my traveling companion & I have ever stayed at! It is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Loved it! Would Most Definitely Recommend this Awesome Resort.
