Capitol Reef Resort is right outside the park entrance. Has many options for you to choose - from regular rooms to covered wagon rooms. Rooms were super clean and employees were great. Restaurant on the property offered all the normal choices. Not a lot of food choices around the park - so plan accordingly. We stopped in Cedar City at a Walmart to get water and snacks. It is soooo quiet there - no traffic and they have a 10pm quiet time. The view from the rooms are spectacular - looks at the mountains. So peaceful there.

It’s worth getting a room with a view, this is such a stunning location. We met the llamas and horses at sunset and then enjoyed the hot pool and tub, an absolute delight in the late evening. We finished the day sitting by the fire pit. A real gem.

We loved this resort. It was great. Spectacular views right on the property. Fire pits and s’more kits available after 7pm. We stayed in a king room which was nice. Would love to stay in a wagon but they were not open when we were there. The property itself was beautiful and perfect for a launching point for a day of hiking in Capitol Reef

This resort is the perfect getaway for a family, couple or friends. We only stayed one night and wished we had stayed for a few. The kids loved it. The setting is absolutely gorgeous and the grounds are fun to explore, between checking out all of the different room options (cabins, teepees, covered wagons, rooms, etc.) to greeting the horses and llamas. We ate dinner at the on-site restaurant and had a good dinner, service was excellent. Everyone was happy with their meals. We even braved the heated pool in the frigid temperatures. Our room in the main building by the office/restaurant was just ok. The room itself was decorated nice, beds were very comfortable, but it was just a little on the old and dark side with a view of the parking lot/highway. If you are going to stay at this resort, choose an upgraded room with a view -- you won't be disappointed. And be sure to stay awhile to fully enjoy what they have to offer.
