Very nice boutique hotel Very friendly front desk and staff very helpful Great location Nice hiking and biking trails close by About one hour from Yosemite entrance, very beautiful drive through the mountains with many places to take pix .

Great location outside Yosemite. This is a "rustic hotel" and we enjoyed it. Yes rooms are dated, doors don't fit squarely, and rooms are not soundproof. Still, they were clean, everything worked, refrigerator in room, and a tasty continental breakfast with long hours of availability. The grounds have plenty of areas for socializing, and it has the feel of an old west hotel. The environmental controls (AC for us in Sept) worked perfectly. If you want a clean comfortable place to stay outside the gates of Yosemite, and/or want to see what it's like staying in an old west hotel, the Groveland Hotel is a great place.

The bed was incredible and pillows were so fluffy, we had best sleep ever! We absolutely loved the terrace and beautiful gardens, so relaxing. The continental breakfast was very nice and dinner was amazing! The history of this place, built in 1839 was fascinating!

I made a reservation here and when I checked in the room had holes in the walls and the bathroom was dirty. The room cost was expensive for where it was located especially considering there were holes in the walls, etc. My daughter, grandchild and I felt extremely uncomfortable so I went down to the office and explained that we would not be staying due to the state of the room. This was definitely not a room worth what I was paying for it. They refused to refund. I should have taken pictures, but was so flustered by the whole situation that I did not. I lost over $370, but moved on to another location.

My friend and I had a great time after our Yosemite trip stopping here. They have a cute upper patio. It was a great place to stay. We enjoyed the room and it had a nice amount of charm for the town. We stayed in the room with two twin beds and it was good.
