Gracious Staff... but the food :(
We stopped because a) the traffic out of Gatlinburg was horrendous, and b) the reviews gave this four stars. Where do I begin?
PROS: The wait was 20 min. And we thought, “Great!” The beer was fantastic! In fact, stop in for a Hefeweizen and Dunkel. The staff was great- genuinely great. Oma’s pankcake potatoes were good. In fact, go for that, a hefe and a smile.
CONS: My husband ordered the jager schnitzel with Brussels and salad. The schnitzel was okay. Brussels were bathed in maple syrup and butter. Downhill from here. I ordered the Traditional schnitzel. It was raw. Not pink- raw. (I eat a lot of pork, for reference and typically order rare steak). My son ordered a kid burger- raw. Not pink- raw.
I won’t belabor the point. Once we told the server, she was very apologetic. The kitchen manager came out and apologized profusely. Comped the meal. They managed it well! Super nice!
But the food, outside of the potatoes, just wasn’t edible. Could’ve been an off night? I don’t know? I can only rate from my experience and I wouldn’t come back!

We have been coming to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg for the past 6 years and almost every trip we have stayed at the Wild Bear Inn. To start off, their housekeeping staff started very early and they would drive around the buildings early in the morning honking the horn to gather the employees that lived on premises. If you wanted to sleep in, this was not a option. We were looking forward to doing some swimming this trip. Not once did I see anyone skim/clean the pool. Every time we went to swim it had a bunch of stuff floating in it (numerous dead bugs, leaves and even a glob of human hair). We booked our room for 9 days. After 5 days we were asked to switch rooms and they called us at 9 o’clock at night to do this. The was very poor planning on their part for painting they wanted to do. Also, the toilet in both rooms we poorly maintained and didn’t flush properly. Then they called us the next night saying that they needed to move us again because of painting. We are supposed to check out the next day. So we would literally have to move for one night. All they offered for the all of the inconvenience is a 25.00 gift certificate to their own restaurant. Very disappointed with this trip and not sure if we will be back next year.

It is what it is
So I am usually very picky and we had Westgate package to stay here however, if I were paying full price this review would be much worse. SO starting at check-in the ladies at the front were very nice. We stayed 2 nights. We had the room above the pool 3rd floor. It was old, dated and the bottom lock was stuck very hard to close. The beds are hard and uncomfortable but some people may like that. For what you pay for it is not much but the location was great away from all the traffic mess. We did not eat at the restaurant so can't comment on that. Stay for what it is not what you think it should be and you will be fine.

Stayed from 7/19 thru 7/23. All I can say is what a dump. The tub spout doesn't fit, took a shower, dried off and walked to my bed and my feet were black.
The finish of the room is poor, furniture strained. Walkway must have had indoor outdoor carpet at one time but its gone and only has the glue and remnants of the carpet backing. The AC sounds like it is about to explode.
Was supposed to have free breakfast but was told it was suspended due to COVID-19. If thats a problem then why is the Inn still open and serving food including breakfast hrs.
If I could rate it a zero I would. Do not stay here.

The place looks really nice outside we were here in July and it was the only Hotel in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg that did not have the swimming pool open the room was somewhat comfortable and clean it was doable for the time we spent in it the 3 nights we stayed no one cleaned our room no fresh towels the plate in the microwave broke first night we was here and no one replaced it it was at the end of Pigeon Forge but it it was in between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg there was no breakfast but we did get a pretty good deal on price of it all they did say that they were doing some remodeling would we stay here ever again when we come to Gatlinburg probably not
