Beware of the Resort Fee

Our one night reservation was made through hotels.com which gave no indication of a resort fee and normally the site does. The resort fee was added to our bill when we checked out and after taxes was nearly $40.00. When my husband checked, this is a nightly fee. Be prepared. Our room was at the end of a hall with a mountain view. The room layout was nice and we had a view over looking the town of Jackson. And it is within walking distance of a couple of restaurants. They don't offer a breakfast.

Don't Let the name "Resort" fool you.

The hotel is typical of a older ski resort and I'm sure that it was worth the $139.00 per night (in the off season) at one time, but hardly that now. We stayed in far nicer resorts on this trip (Vail, Steamboat Springs, Coeur d'Alene Seattle and Vancouver, CAN) for between $89.00 and $129.00 per night. The first sign that this was going to be a bad experience was that we decided to have a drink at the bar before dinner. We waited for 10 minutes before anyone showed up to take our order and it was only because we got up and decided it would be quicker to walk into town instead. Next morning was the worst. You would think that after charging $139.00 per night plus resort fees and taxes for a mediocre room (oh and did I mention that it is the off season) that they would have a complimentary breakfast. No such thing. Because we were on a tight schedule we decided to have the buffet....BIG mistake. Everything looked and tasted like it had been sitting for well over two hour....NOTHING and I mean NOTHING was fresh except for the bill of $16.00 per person that the waitress made sure she got to our table as quick as she could. I don't blame the staff for this experience, the blame rest entirely on the Management. The one shining star was that the check in staff were friendly and courteous. Other wise steer clear and pick someplace that knows how to cater to you and your wallet.

wish we had time for pool and spa but arrived late. No blankets or pillows for the sofa bed. Coffee pot was just for 1 cup but looked like a whole pot. Beautiful resort. Hayden's Post was great for breakfast. Very happy we switched from a classic to a luxury condo

Our small group stayed at the Snow King Resort early September 2018, three nights. Overall the rooms were clean, well set up, quiet, even though we were next to an elevator. But no materials in our room about the amenities of the hotel. Nothing! You are left on your own to discover what the Snow King has to offer, or inquire at the front desk. The food in the restaurant was okay, nothing special, one evening meal was inedible. Breakfast was okay, good choices, but a little expensive. Sometimes the buffet set-up meant items ran out, and sometimes not at serving temperature. The staff in the restaurant/bar was wonderful, very willing to help. They deserve praise for what they do, just the hotel/resort management needs to work on small details to make this place what it should be. The spa was clean, plenty of towels, a real plus for this resort. Finally, beware of the resort fee, not a welcome expense to see. And like some hotels lately, they take a deposit on your room, above and beyond the room and resort cost, but after we left, it came off of our credit card.

Pet friendly lodge with all the luxury ammenities

We stayed several nights during our recent road trip to the national parks. The hotel was comfortable, clean and had great views of the Tetons. All the ammenities were there and the staff was very friendly. We had food and drinks at the bar/cafe and their chili was awesome! Our dogs enjoyed the large lawn area along with many other dogs staying at the hotel. We will definitely stay here again the next time we're in Jackson, hopefully for some winter activities next time. :)
