Snowmobilers Unite! March marks the month of some of the most exciting snowmobiling displays for the Grand Teton National Park area and Wyoming itself. Two nationally recognized charity events back to back create an ideal vacation format for snowmobile riders and spectators. The annual Pink Ribbon Riders fundraiser jumps off at the Togwotee Mountain Lodge from March 17 to 19th and the World Championship Jackson Hole Hill Climb is set for March 24th-27th at Snow King Resort with proceeds going to various charitable causes. These are two exciting events that snowmobile enthusiasts will not want to miss.
The Togwotee Mountain Lodge hosts the annual Pink Ribbon Riders Snow Run in order to raise funds for men and women going through breast cancer. It is a fun-filled weekend with lots of snowmobiling action as well as tours provided by Togwotee Mountain Lodge. Togwotee Mountain Lodge has ample facilities to enjoy as well as a village of individual cabins, two restaurants and a western saloon. The Pink Ribbon Riders events will utilize the Log Pavilion that has plenty of luxurious space for group events. The fireside room is an exciting game room with arcade games, Foosball and pool tables. The real fun of the Pink Ribbon Riders Snow Run will be the guided snowmobile tours and evening gatherings with entertainment and contests.
The Togwotee Mountain Lodge offers a winter package that combines the many offerings of the lodge in one low price. Call National Park Reservations to arrange your stay. Included in Togwotee Mountain Lodge's winter package is your nightly stay, social hour, dinner, breakfast, snowmobile guide service and transportation to and from the Jackson Hole Airport. If this package is reserved with less than 30 days until the day of your stay, the Togwotee Mountain Lodge can only provide guided snowmobile service based on availability. This is a great way to turn over the planning and worry to the professionals at Togwotee Mountain Lodge and free yourself for the fun and festivities at the Pink Ribbon Riders Snow Run. The money raised from this event and other Snow Runs on the Pink Ribbon Riders tour go toward helping those afflicted with breast cancer with the extra costs that are inevitable during treatments. Those that want to participate in the snow run should register as soon as possible.
Following the exciting events at the Togwotee Mountain Lodge, the World Championship Jackson Hole Snowmobile Hill Climb is set for the next weekend of March 24 – 27th at Snow King Resort. For those who are lucky enough to stay in the Grand Teton National Park area for the duration of both of these events, weekdays full of snowmobiling in the Bridger-Teton National Forest and Grand Teton National Park will not be a disappointment.
The World Championship Jackson Hole Hill Climb has been an ongoing event for over 35 years when it started as a small gathering in 1975. Now, in four days, over 10,000 spectators and participants come to Snow King Resort to see who will make it to the top of the mountain. More than 1,500 vertical feet and almost 45 degrees in some places make the Jackson Hole Hill Climb an extremely challenging event. More than half of the attempts will fail.
The best location for lodging during this event is at the Snow King Resort, but there are several other options in the vicinity if there is limited availability at eh Snow King Resort. A free shuttle to and from the Snow King Resort from various Jackson Hole locations for the Jackson Hole Hill Climb will be ongoing and schedules will be posted at the many stops. National Park Reservations agents can find you the best accommodations for your needs during this weekend. The main event is for participants who have earned points in the recognized national circuit, but there are amateur flights as well.
This is an exciting time to be in the Grand Teton National Park area watching adrenaline junkies try to conquer the 7,800 foot hill. All the monies accumulated during the World Championship Jackson Hole Hill Climb goes to a worthy cause. In past years, proceeds have gone to “Toys for Tots”, scholarships for local youth, Shriner's Children's Hospital and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The event would not be possible without the hundreds of volunteers from the Jackson Hole Snow Devils, who founded the Jackson Hole Hill Climb that eventually became a world championship event.
So for those who can't get enough snowmobiling action, head to Grand Teton National Park area for the Pink Ribbon Riders Snow Run and the World Championship Jackson Hole Hill Climb for two fun-packed weekends of adrenaline and fund raising for worthy causes. The professionals at National Park Reservations can help you plan out your Grand Teton National Park lodging to get the best of both worlds with a rustic cabin stay at Togwotee Mountain Lodge and the ski resort atmosphere of Snow King Resort.
