Overview of Paradise Inn

The Paradise Inn resides within Mount Rainier National Park. Located 19 miles inside the park from the southwest Nisqually Entrance, the historic inn is perfectly positioned in the Paradise area. Originally built in 1916, the lodge is indeed grand and has been designated as a National Historic Landmark and has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. In addition, the lodge has recently undergone 25 million dollars worth of renovations. The Paradise Inn provides refreshment and unparalleled views of Mount Rainier with lodging available from mid-May to late September. Amenities are meant to promote simplicity. There are no televisions, internet, or telephones (landlines in the rooms or cell phone coverage). The Paradise Inn has 121 guestrooms. 91 rooms have a private bath while 30 rooms have shared bathrooms. Rooms sleep a maximum of one to four people depending on the size and number of beds. The Paradise Inn consists of two primary buildings: The Main Lodge and The Annex Building. The Main Lodge has two floors and the Annex Building has four floors. Since there is no elevator, rooms on the second floor and above are accessible by stairs only. With the recent renovations, there is now a sky bridge connecting the main lodge to the Annex's 3rd floor.

Guests of the Paradise Inn instantly experience the cozy atmosphere as they walk into the lodge and see the great room with its log furniture, stone fireplace, and the beams and pillars above. Mount Rainier is a massive backdrop throughout the Paradise Inn. For instance, guests can enjoy the impressive views from the dining room with its huge windows. The dining room at the Paradise Inn serves traditional Northwest cuisine. The dining room is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For those wanting a casual coffee shop-style environment, the Tatoosh Cafe is located inside the Inn. There is also a gift shop at the Inn for visitors to browse through for special items. There is even a post office at the lodge. Sitting at an elevation of 5,420 feet in the Paradise area of Mount Rainier National Park, the Paradise Inn is within walking distance of the visitor center and hiking trails. For many years guests have been coming to Mount Rainier National Park to gaze at the glaciers, meadows, wildflowers, waterfalls, and wildlife while enjoying a memorable getaway to one of the "Great Lodges of the West."
