Q:Is this a resort-style property?

The Bluenose Inn is made up of two guest buildings, and a multi-purpose activities building. The first is the luxurious 53-room Mizzentop Building which also houses the registration office, business center, and the Great Room Piano Lounge. The second is the Stenna Nordica Building, featuring 45 perfectly decorated rooms. The third building houses the indoor heated pool, hot tubs, steam room, fitness center, and most importantly, the Eden Spa.
Q:Is the hotel near any attractions?

The Bluenose Inn is located just a few minutes from Acadia National Park, all of the hiking/biking trails and is walking distance to the shops and restaurants in the area.
Q:How old is the inn?
A:
The original building on the site of the current Bluenose Inn was constructed in 1884 as a summer estate. Years later the building was expanded into a full-size hotel. It was rebuilt in the early '90s and has since been well maintained. The addition of the two newer buildings took place shortly after the expansion of the original Mizzentop Building.

The Bluenose Inn has a heated indoor pool, a heated outdoor pool, a hot tub, a sauna, a restaurant, and a bar.
Q:What's the restaurant like?
A:
The Looking Glass Restaurant was voted for having the best breakfast with a view. The restaurant offers amazing views of Bar Harbor, Maine, from either the outdoor deck or the indoor dining area. Unfortunately, the restaurant does not serve lunch or dinner. A sample of the menu includes Maine blueberry pancakes, lobster eggs Benedict, tasty breakfast bowls, and a build-your-own omelette.
The Looking Glass Restaurant is open for breakfast on Wednesdays through Mondays, from 7 am to 11:00 am, and is closed on Tuesdays.

The Mary Roberts Rinehart Estate, The Bluenose Inn, and The Wonder View Inn stand on the historic grounds of Farview, once the estate of renowned mystery writer Mary Roberts Rinehart. Though much of the estate was lost in the devastating fire of 1947, remnants of its grandeur remain, including stone steps and walls that still grace the property.
