So your planning a summer vacation to Glacier National Park. As you start to make plans for lodging at Glacier National Park, you basically have two options...
Below we have shared two scenarios experienced by our fearless vacationers Dick & Jane. Maybe you can glean some insight from their two experiences staying in Glacier Park, which will help you in making your own decision about what type of accommodation works best for you.
The water is cold at the communal showers as Jane tries to wash away the last of the sleep from her eyes, and little Suzie from the neighboring campsite is not at all excited about her mothers plan to give her a morning shower, and she is voicing her disapproval at the top of her lungs!
Cold, red-eyed and tired Dick & Jane reluctantly start their day. The first activity on their itinerary... an exciting Red Bus Tour!
The red bus tour would have been one of the highlights of their vacation, and a lifetime experience! But, it is warm in the bus, and Dick finally found some relief from that back-stabbing rock, so the mind blowing vistas inevitably give way to a restless nap for Dick. And Jane is still shivering from her morning hike through the melting snow and her cold shower, so she spends most of the bus tour wrapped up in the cocoon of her stadium blanket trying to ward off her shivers. Isn't camping awesome?
After finishing their coffee, they stroll down the hall to enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel restaurant.
Showered, well-fed and ready for the day, Dick & Jane head outside to join the morning Red Bus tour trough the park. In between all of the spectacular vista's and panoramas, Dick happens to catch a glimpse of the person sitting beside him in the the bus. This poor soul is asleep and shivering beneath his stadium blanket, missing all the spectacular Glacier Park scenery! Dick wonders to himself...”Why on earth would anyone ever sleep through such an amazing experience?”
Bleary eyed and sniffling, the poor 'camper' sleeping beside Dick on the bus tour is missing out on one of natures most incredible experiences! The incomparable mountains and all of the beautiful untouched wilderness of Montana's Glacier National Park is a once-in-a-lifetime experience to enjoy. If the unfortunate soul had only made reservations at one of the many historic Glacier Park lodges, like Dick & Jane decided to, then his vacation would have ended very differently with far better memories to enjoy and many more photographs to reminisce about his adventure in Glacier National Park.
It's like I said... the choice is yours. You can choose to relax in one of the cozy and inviting lodges or hotels inside or near Glacier Park, or you can choose to pitch your tent beneath the trees with the coons, coyotes and skeeters. But I think you could learn a thing or two from Dick & Jane, and I know that they would tell you to opt for the comfort and convenience of a hotel, and avoid the unpredictable Montana weather and 'nosy neighbors' by booking your accommodations in one of the beautiful and historic Glacier National Park lodges.
