There is never a lack of entertainment in the city of Whitefish.  Winter, Summer, Spring and Autumn, no matter what the season there is always something fun and exciting going on in and around this bustling little rocky mountain resort town.

Endless varieties of outdoor recreation notwithstanding, Whitefish is also overflowing with cultural, artistic, technical, and good old-fashioned, down-home family fun.    The community of Whitefish goes out of its way to make you feel welcome and to ensure you have a good time in any season.  You don’t have to wander too far through the town of Whitefish to find an interesting and enlightening art gallery, a quaint gift shop, or a trendy boutique.

Whitefish Arts Festival

This annual event takes place in late June or early July of each year and is designed to support the arts in the area.  Artisans with work ranging from fashion to wood carving gather together to share their wares.

Farmer’s Market The Farmer’s Market takes place each a week throughout the summer.  Downtown Whitefish is transformed into an outdoor marketplace of delicious locally-grown fruits, vegetables, and homemade pies, pastries, and desserts. This is an excellent event for mingling with the people who live in the area. Moonlight Dine and Ski 

The Moonlight Dine and Ski is a romantic event for couples who want to enjoy an upscale version of the Whitefish vacation.  It takes place once a month during the winter season and combines the best of local cuisine with city views from the mountain top.

Winter Carnival 

This event generally takes place in mid-late January, after the hubbub of the Christmas Season has diminished. This annual event has been going on for over forty years and has grown to include dance parties, ice-sculpting, street parades and events and activities of fun for all ages.

Nightlife

Travelers will find that most of the “city life” to be experienced in Whitefish is located centered around the vibrant Central Avenue.  This is where visitors will go during the day time hours to experience dining and shopping and will most likely want to return again in the evening to take part in the camaraderie of community socializing.  You will find Whitefish’s “city life” to be more of a laidback, jovial, “happy hour” nature than a big dance club kind.  Locals and visitors converge on the restaurants, art galleries and downtown pubs to meet, mingle and wind down after a busy day of outdoor adventure.   You will find the Whitefish nightlife to be an enjoyable, fun and socially rewarding experience.

Whitefish is an absolute slice of heaven for anyone who enjoys outdoor sporting activities.  Outdoor enthusiasts will love Whitefish any time of the year. During the summer Whitefish offers unbeatable fishing, boating, waterskiing, swimming, mountain biking, camping, kayaking, golf, hiking, there is even a Frisbee-golf course located just north of town if you are looking to try something a little bit different.  During the winter, Whitefish sparkles as the home of the world-renown Whitefish Mountain Resort, offering exceptional downhill skiing, snowboarding, snow-tubing and more.  You might also enjoy ice skating at Whitefish’s Stumptown Ice Pavilion, dog-sledding with one of the areas dog sled outfitters,  or snowshoe hiking in the beautiful backcountry that surrounds Whitefish.
