The Husky Homestead Tour is one of the most highly-rated activities in the Denali area and is the perfect addition to your Denali National Park vacation! You will fall in love with the adorable little Husky athletes in training that will be among the first to greet you as you arrive at the Homestead, and your first order of duty upon arrival is to cuddle and hold these little bundles of joy for a few moments. Which it turns out is not only good therapy for you, it is also an important part of these little athletes training, as it gets them used to socializing with new people.
If you are like most visitors to the Husky Homestead, you will find it hard to pull away from the Husky puppy social, however you will have to, because there is so much more to see and do and learn before your adventure is over.
Following your time of cuddling the Husky pups, you will get to watch the adult Husky athletes as they go through their rigorous training process! You will witness first-hand what it takes to become a world-champion sled-dog athlete, and you will certainly gain new respect and admiration for these beautiful animals and the hard work and dedication that they put in.
You will be amazed as you witness the incredible speed and power of these Husky dogs as they explode out of the training yard on a training run, and you will have the opportunity to watch their true poetry in motion as they run in rhythm on a custom built 50' training treadmill.
During the rest of the presentation you will learn from Jeff King and his talented staff about what it really looks like to live an authentic Alaskan lifestyle and what it takes to become a champion Iditarod athlete from a human perspective.
Jeff and his team will share personal experiences from more than 40 years of living in and adventuring in Alaska, including epic tales from running in and winning the Iditarod race, not just once, but multiple times!
