Yosemite Lodge at Falls detail map

The Yosemite Falls are one of the most beautiful and popular attractions to Yosemite Park.  The falls are found on the north side of Yosemite Valley where they drop some 400 feet to the forested country below.  Hidden by trees the best view of Yosemite Falls is a close up one.

Yosemite Lodge at the Falls is so named because it is, quite literally the closest property to Yosemite Falls.  Here you will find the perfect place to settle in.  From here you will be able to go exploring and participate in all the activities Yosemite has to offer.

Yosemite Lodge at the Falls

Yosemite Lodge at the Falls is a modern yet rustic lodge that was redesigned in 1998. Today the main complex emphasizes glass and wood detailing to blend harmoniously with the natural surroundings of the beautiful Yosemite Valley, including the Falls.

The Yosemite Lodge offers 245 comfortable hotel rooms, as well as an amazing peek into Americas history.

Fort Yosemite, park headquarters of the U.S. Army Cavalry, once occupied the area where Yosemite Lodge now stands. The soldiers at Fort Yosemite were responsible for administering and protecting Yosemite Park from 1906 to 1914. The NPS was established and assumed control of Yosemite in 1916.

In June 1915, future NPS director Stephen T. Mather selected Joe Desmond, an entrepreneur from Los Angeles, to organize a new lodging facility on this site. Several army barracks remained until the early 1950s, when the hotel was modernized.

Price and location make Yosemite Lodge one of the most sought after places to find reservations in and around the park.  Yosemite Lodge is located in Yosemite Valley; a convenient location for visitors interested in hiking Half Dome, Glacier Point, or one of the many trails originating near Yosemite Lodge.

If you would decide to stay at Yosemite Lodge please make your reservations 12 months in advance to ensure that you will be able to book a room.

Green Rooms -

Newly remodeled rooms that take environmental impact into consideration for each design choice. Yosemite Lodge at the Falls  proudly unveiled two prototype eco-friendly guest rooms on April 21, 2010. Designers evaluated and selected each feature of the rooms based on sustainability, recycled content, proximity of manufacturing location and durability. As the first step in the goals of renovating all 245 of the Yosemite Lodge at the Falls rooms in a environmentally responsible way, and achieving LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and Energy Star certification, the green rooms give Delaware North Companies, and the National Park Service the opportunity to evaluate the design decisions.
