The Hat Rock Inn

The Hat Rock Inn is ideally situated to enjoy the stunning beauty of Monument Valley, 100 feet above the Gypson Rapids of the San Juan River. A 1/4 mile walk along a cliffside trail that adjoins a dirt road will bring you to an undeveloped beach or you may also drive to the open public beach.

The river is great for swimming, tubing & rafting this area is not a part of the Navajo Reservation, accordingly beer and alcohol are available along with the freedom to hike, bike, & ride horseback virtually anywhere you wish! Hat Rock Inn also offers some great jeep & 4-wheeler trails, all trails are accessible from anywhere in town. Jeep rentals are coming soon, so ask about them when you arrive.

Every room here has a view with very little street noise. You won’t want to miss the scenic drive from Monument Valley through Mexican Hat to Natural bridges and Lake Powell or on to Moab to Arches State Park. Also you will see hummingbirds, lizards, a few bull snakes, but no rattle snakes, gnats or mosquitoes. Perfect for enjoying the outdoors! Spring temps range from Low 50's to 80's while summer temperatures reach 110. Great hieroglyphs can be found on the Hat Rock Inn property. The trail is not yet complete, so this is considered a moderate hike at this time.
