Wildlife abounds in this beautiful geological area with Big Horn sheep and the Great Blue heron native to the area. After a day of exploring the Black Canyon region, relax in the natural hot springs, near Willow Beach, and take advantage of the surrounding beauty.

RIVER TOUR ADVENTURE
Bring the entire family and come enjoy this unique day trip aboard a motor-assisted raft which allows the visitor to leisurely enjoy and share in the history, desert wildlife and beauty of the Black Canyon on the Colorado River.
Black Canyon/Willow Beach River Adventures will provide round trip transportation from various Las Vegas Hotels if needed or you can choose to meet us at our offices located in the Hacienda Hotel & Casino on Highway 93 just outside of historic Boulder City. From there you will be transported on our tour buses to the launch area at the base of the Hoover Dam. This is an extremely rare view of the Hoover Dam that very few people have the opportunity to see. At this time, you will board our large comfortable rafts which have been carefully constructed with your party's safety in mind. They have multiple air chambers and are outfitted with all of the Coast Guard required and recommended safety equipment.
During this excursion, our experienced and knowledgeable guides will share with you the history of this magnificent geological area. The high canyon walls will leave you breathless.
Be on the lookout for Desert Big Horn sheep, Osprey, and Great Blue Heron in their natural setting. Bring your camera and plenty of film. For many, this is a once in a lifetime chance to witness such a incredible array of wildlife and wonders of nature, and you will definitely not want to miss a thing.
Our rafts will stop along the shore to give you a chance to swim or play in the cool clear waters below Hoover Dam. You might take this opportunity to enjoy the box lunch provided while watching and listening to the sights and sounds of the magnificent desert environment.
Your trip will end on the Arizona side of the river at Willow Beach. Here you will have the chance to shop for that special souvenier which will commemorate your exciting river adventure trip. Once you have had a chance to browse through the gift shop, you will board one of our comfortable tour buses for the return trip over the crest of the Hoover Dam to our office or your Las Vegas Hotel whichever you would prefer..

The closest airport to Black CanyonWillow Beach is McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada. Take 215 east, then take 93 to Boulder City. Continue on 93 after it ends and turn left at the second stop light. Turn left into the Hacienda Hotel & Casino parking lot. The office is located inside the Hotel.

Black Canyon History
The Colorado River has long been a source for survival in the Mohave Desert. Early Native Americans used the water for drinking and for irrigation of crops such as corn, beans and squash. But the river was unpredictable and farming was as much a gamble as any visitor to Las Vegas will find today. The ancient Anasazi mysteriously left the area about 800-850 years ago, probably because of a long period of drought. The only evidence that remains of their habitation in Southern Nevada are petroglyphs etched into the canyon walls, metates used for grinding food and the remains of their huts. The Southern Paiute used natural springs for irrigation of some meager crops, but they were more inclined to forage for roots, berries and nuts to augment the hunting of wildlife. It was a harsh environment and did not support a large population. The first European Americans to the area were amazed that anyone could survive.

* Adult price includes the $3.00 National Park entrance fee. Any person under 16 years of age will not be charged an entrance fee. Entrance fee is waived for passengers holding National Park Passes, Golden Age, Eagle or Access passes.
** Transportation rates include transportation of customer between Las Vegas hotels and Black Canyon/Willow Beach River Adventures check-in desk located in the Hacienda Hotel. This transportation service is provided separate from the raft trip and is outside the governance of the National Park Service.
Seats will be sold on a daily basis, first come first served. Reservations confirmed with Black Canyon/Willow Beach River Adventures prior to SOLD OUT notification will be honored. Cancellations will be accepted in writing 48 hours prior to departure. No shows will be charged on confirmed reservations.
