Celebrating its 100th Birthday Jasper is the largest and most northerly Canadian rocky mountain national park. It is also part of a spectacular World Heritage Site which encompasses Glacier National Park to the south. Jasper National Park, established in 1907. It is the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies with 10,878 square kilometres of mountain wilderness.

This “wildest of the mountain parks” is comprised of delicate and carefully protected ecosystems, Jasper's scenery is none-the-less rugged and mountainous. Here you will find exuberance in the thunder of Sunwapta Falls, and the serene beauty of Mount Edith Cavell. For outdoor lovers you will enjoy the 1,000-plus kilometers, or over 600 miles, of trails, including up close trails to Athabasca Glacier.  If you’re in the mood to relax you will enjoy a soak in the Miette Hotsprings.

Jasper also contains a superb backcountry trail system as well as the world famous Columbia Icefields, one of the only Icefields in the world accessible by road. It is internationally-renowned for wildlife viewing, and is home to some of North America's rarest animals, including healthy populations of grizzly bears, moose, caribou and wolves.
