Badger Pass Ski Area is a winter recreation resort in Yosemite National Park. The resort  is located inside Yosemite National Park, 6 miles east of Highway 41 on Glacier Point Rd. in the southern area of Yosemite National Park.

Badger Pass is the oldest ski resort in California and offers the best cross county skiing in the United States, as well as some excellent downhill skiing. The Badger Pass Ski Lodge, constructed in 1935, is historically significant as the first alpine ski resort in the state of California and is an example of NPS Rustic architecture with Swiss chalet influences.

Badger Pass is situated midway between Wawona and Yosemite Valley inside Yosemite National Park, set at an elevation of 7200 feet.

The ski slopes at Badger Pass are perfect for beginners as well the intermediate skier. The resort provides more than 600 feet of vertical feet, more than 90 acres of terrain, 10 ski runs that range from beginner to intermediate, and 5 ski lifts that provide access to the entire resort.  Ski runs range in scope from as little as 300 feet in length, to more than a mile long. And if you’re a snowboarder, riding is allowed on 100 percent of the downhill mountain.

There are 350 miles of adjacent cross-country trails, only 30 miles of which are groomed. These hundreds of miles of beautiful cross-country trails provide excellent access to Yosemite’s backcountry and breathtaking views of wilderness regions that most people don’t even explore in summer. One of the most interesting trips is a 21-mi (34 km) loop from Badger Pass to Glacier Point. The views of Half Dome in winter are spectacular. In fact, the National Park Service in conjunction with The Yosemite Association provide webcams of the vistas you can see along this journey.

Badger Pass is open from mid-December until mid-March and with ski passes starting at only $30 for a half day of skiing and $35 for a full day, skiing at Badger Pass remains very affordable. Ski and snowboard rentals are available too at extremely reasonable rates.

California's original ski area in the spectacular Sierra Nevada is still an ideal family-friendly vacation spot with short lift lines, a down-home atmosphere and a season's worth of activities, festivals and friendly competitions - fun for every skill level! Badger Pass also offers tubing and cross-country skiing.
