If you are looking for lodging at the Grand Canyon, look no further than the Grand Canyon’s Red Feather Lodge!

 

The Grand Canyon Red Feather Lodge is ideally located in the center of the small town of Tusayan, just one mile south of the south entrance to the Grand Canyon National Park on Highway 64. The Red Feather Lodge is within walking distance of many restaurants, gift shops and the IMAX Theater. The Grand Canyon National Park Airport is less than one mile away.

 

In 1963, the R.P. Thurston familybuilt the Red Feather Inn, the first motel in Tusayan,and is stilll owned and operated by the family.

The original building is still part of the property and is the motor section of the Red Feather Inn. The hotel section was completed in 1995.

 

 

With the Red Feather Lodge as your home base you can enjoy the Grand Canyon from sunrise to sunset, each and every day. Red Feather's friendly and experienced front desk staff takes pleasure in making your stay as enjoyable as possible. They can help you book a helicopter, airplane, horseback, jeep, or river tour. They will also be happy to provide you with advice on where to get the best views, where to shop, or where to find the best food in the area.

 

The Grand Canyon Red Feather Roadway Inn is happy to provide many excellent services.

 

After a long day of walking or hiking at the Canyon, or being on the road all day, what better way to soothe those aching muscles than a splash in the heated outdoor pool or a soak in the outdoor Jacuzzi? The pool is open from the middle of March until October, depending on the weather.

 

If you haven’t gotten enough exercise touring the Grand Canyon, you may enjoy our fitness center. The fitness center has a stationary bicycle, tread mill and a weight machine.

 

The Grand Canyon Red Feather Inn welcomes pets. There is a refundable $50.00 pet deposit due at check-in, and a daily pet fee per pet. We do ask that pets are not left unattended in the room, and that you let us know when you are ready to check out so that we may do a quick inspection of the room.

 

When starting your day off at the Grand Canyon Red Feather Lodge, along with a pastry, juice or coffee. The Red Feather Lodge is happy to offer staffing at the front desk 24 hours a day. They also have coffee or tea available in the lobby at all times. You may want to enjoy a meal at the Café Tusayan in the motel section of the property.

 

Whether you book a room in the motel or hotel section, all of Red Feather Inn's services and facilities are available to all guests.

 

Accommodations

 

 

The Motel

 

The Grand Canyon Red Feather Lodge was originally built in 1963-1964 by Mr. R.P.Thurston. The Red Feather Lodge was the first motel built in Tusayan. The original motel had 44 rooms. In 1977, 66 more rooms and a restaurant were added to the Red Feather Lodge. This section of the property is our motel section.

 

The motel is located adjacent to the hotel and has been a favorite of Grand Canyon visitors since it was built. This is a two story building with an outside entrance to each room. There is no elevator access in this building. This building is older, but it features all the amenities of the hotel along with a rustic simplicity. The motel features tub/shower combinations, and are equipped with heat and air conditioning. These rooms are smaller than the hotel rooms and the rates are generally lower. All guests staying in the motel section are welcome to use all of our services and facilities.

 

The Hotel

 

In 1995, the Grand Canyon Red Feather Lodge added 126 hotel rooms to the property. The hotel is a three story building with interior corridors and offers modern, climate controlled rooms with hair dryers, coffee makers and data port phones. Relax amid the soothing Southwestern décor.

 

The hotel section is located next to the seasonal outdoor heated swimming pool and Jacuzzi. The fitness center is also located in the hotel section.

Whether you decide to stay in the motel or hotel section, you will be able to enjoy pay-per-view movies and video games. There is someone at our front desk at all times, 24 hours a day. For your convenience we offer safe deposit boxes, and we have fax and copy service available.
