Exchange Club Motel

The Exchange Club is a historic two story motel, restaurant and casino located in Beatty, Nevada just 12 miles from Death Valley National Park. The Exchange Club Motel offers 44 rooms, with AC, cable/satellite television, daily maid service, in-room refrigerator and laundry facilities on site. The famous Exchange Club Casino is attached to the motel and provides plenty of gaming machines, poker and a beautiful built in bar area with micro brew beer available.

The Exchange Club was established in 1906 and has been a popular attraction and noted landmark in Beatty ever since.

The Exchange Club's founder George Greenwood, was a prospector from Stockton, CA who first rode the stage into Beatty in 1903. Of course at that time Beatty was nothing more than three canvas tents set up in the middle of the desert. Two years later in 1905 George participated with several other settlers in the area in building the Shoshone Mine in Rhyolite, a small town five miles west of Beatty.

Soon gold was discovered and Ryolite's population exploded to more than 6,000 people. The new found gold and the surge in population spread wealth and prosperity to the surrounding area, and Beatty became a supply center for all the local mines and prospectors.

Always the entrepreneur, George again saw great potential here and took some of his capital from the mine and established the Exchange Club Motel & Casino in 1906. The Exchange Club has continued to be a prosperous enterprise to this day.

Directions:

From Hwy 190 in Death Valley turn east on Hwy 267 (the Turn off to Scotty’s Castle).
Go North .5 miles
Right on Hwy 374 (look for markers to Beatty and
Rhyolite)
Go 25.9 miles Northeast on Hwy 190
You will pass Corkscrew Point, and climb through
Daylight Pass,
Cross the state line into Nevada, and descend into the
Beatty Area.
You will pass Rhyolite and drive into Beatty.
At the only stop sign, look across the street to the
Right
AND YOU ARE AT the Exchange Club!

Rates:

$35 - $50/night.  Deposit requires a credit card hold.  There is a 9% tax.
