The Lower Loop - from Big Sky

Yellowstone's most famous attractions await you on our most popular tour, the Lower Loop. The day begins in the Firehole Canyon with a view of the Firehole Falls and a short hike to the Fountain Paint Pots. The tour will break at Old Faithful where you will be given plenty of time to view the geyser, the Inn and to enjoy lunch. After lunch your trip will climb over the Continental Divide, twice, to Yellowstone Lake and the historic Lake Hotel. After traveling through the wildlife-rich Hayden Valley, the highlight of the day will be a visit to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone's South Rim including Upper, Lower and Crystal Falls. Your return trip will visit Gibbon Falls.

Tour Highlights:
Firehole Falls, Firehole Canyon, the Fountain Paint Pots (short hike), Firehole Lake Drive, Old Faithful Geyser, Old Faithful Inn, Yellowstone Lake, the Lake Hotel, the Hayden Valley, the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone (South Rim), Upper Falls, Lower Falls, Crystal Falls and Gibbon Falls.

Common Wildlife:
Elk and Bison are common most of the year (they can be a little thin in numbers in August), Coyotes and Bears are sometimes seen in the spring and fall. Those traveling in from Big Sky should not rule out a Moose.

Northern Yellowstone Tour

Yellowstone's Northern Loop is noted for it's wide variety of wildlife and scenic terrain. First, you will visit Gibbon Falls. After lunch in Mammoth or Gardiner, you will visit Tower Falls, the Petrified Tree and Undine Falls as you work your way to historic Mammoth Hot Springs where the group will visit Fort Yellowstone and take a short hike to the terraces. The return trip will visit the Hoo Doos, and the Golden Gate Canyon and Bridge.

Tour Highlights: Gibbon Falls, Tower Falls, the Petrified Tree, Undine Falls, Gardiner Stage Coach Road (if open), Mammoth Hot Springs, Fort Yellowstone, The Blacktail Plateau Stagecoach Road (if open), the Chittenden Road, the Hoo Doos, Rustic Falls, the Golden gate Canyon and Bridge and Obsidian Cliff.

Common Wildlife: Elk, Black Bears, Bison and Pronghorn are common, there numbers are best in spring and falls. Grizzly Bears, Coyotes and Big Horn Sheep are occasionally sighted. Of course, a Moose is possible in the Gallatin District and Big Sky Area.


An Evening In The Park
Big Sky only - 7 days a week during the summer season

Pickup Times: Mountain Village: 2:00pm; Meadow: 2:15pm; Canyon: 2:30pm

Mid April through Early November

This is an exciting tour through the heart of Yellowstone's Geyser Country. First, you will visit Firehole Falls, and the spectacular Firehole Canyon. Your guide will plan the rest of the day around the evening's geyser predictions including short hikes at the Fountain Paint Pots and the Black Sand Basin. Dinner will be at the Old Faithful area where you will also have time to view the historic Inn and the geyser. The return trip will look for wildlife.

Tour Highlights:
Firehole Canyon, Firehole Falls, Firehole Lake Drive, the Fountain Paint Pots (short hike), Old Faithful, the Old Faithful Inn and the Black Sand Basin (short hike).

Common Wildlife
Elk and Bison are common May through late July, and reappear in September. Bears, wolves and Coyotes are occasionally sighted especially April through late June. Moose, although solitary and somewhat difficult to spot, are common in the Big Sky and Gallatin areas of the Park year 'round.

Mammoth Hot Springs & Wildlife Tour (available year-round)


Adults: $85; Children & Seniors: $75

· Lunch is included, however Park entrance fees and guide's gratuities are not.

Departure Dates & Times:
· Mid-March through the end of April - Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays depart at 7:15 am from the Mountain village; 7:30 from the Meadow.

· May 1st through July 4th - depart Big Sky at noon from the Mountain village and 12:15pm from the Meadow.

· Thanksgiving through mid-December - depart Big Sky's Mountain village at 7:15 am, the Meadow at 7:30am.

Please note this tour is NOT on a snowcoach, and will travel via Bozeman and Livingston when the Interior of the Park is Closed. Bozeman and Livingston Pick ups are available.

Although most of the Park is closed during the off-season, a very special portion of Yellowstone is open year 'round and is just in reach from Big Sky. This 320 mile, 11-hour tour, will travel via Bozeman and Livingston to the original entrance of the Park at Gardiner, MT. Spectacular scenery awaits you along the entire route. The tour will travel the entire length of the Northern Range from Emigrant, MT to the Lamar valley and in the springtime can hold thousands of animals. The tour will break in Mammoth for a short hike through the terraces and on the way back to visit the Albright Center Museum and historic Fort Yellowstone. The bears usually emerge in mid-March and you may be one of the luck few to see one of the first bears of the year.

Tour Highlights:
Mammoth Hot Springs (short hike), Undine Falls, the Albright Center Museum, the Liberty Cap, Canary Spring, the Soda Butte, the Lamar Valley and the Paradise Valley.

Common Wildlife:
In March through July: Elk, Bison, Mule Deer, Whitetail Deer, Pronghorn and Coyotes are viewed almost every tour. Black Bears and Grizzly Bears emerge in March and become very visible in May and June. Wolves, Big Horn Sheep and Moose are also occasionally sighted. In early December expect the above- except the bears.
